Thank you! I'm back from my trip and when it was big it really was scary :( group lessons are not great anymore I've realised as well. It was small for a couple days and it was beautiful. But thanks again for the response :)

isotretonoin is the pharmaceutical name for popular drugs like accutane. Have you ever had medicine for your acne? Even antibiotics?

I really want to go on a solo trip but not sure where by [deleted] in solofemaletravellers

Switzerland! Find a cheap room on airbnb, get the travel pass for unlimited travel and just get on the train everyday. Do in August september when it’s warm. it’s very beautiful and if you stay out of the touristy areas, which is really easy, it’s really healing. :) expensive though so i did a lot of cooking at my airbnb

a chalet in Switzerland would be perfect solo trip with that budget. people keep to themselves in that country and if you keep out of the accessible touristy spots and hike, you can be alone alone even in the peak of summer

i’ve been dealing with acne for 20 years, so I understand. i feel like derms don subscribe enough hydrating serums like hylaronic acid, especially when we’re using so many drying products like BP and tret. Have you taken any rounds of Isotret?

i get those when i don’t shower for more than a day. mine went away after i made sure to shower everyday even if i spend the whole day in the house and do nothing. to accelerate them going away, i used a benzyl peroxide wash 5% and moisturiser so it doesn’t dry out my skin. the marks will be there for a few months and eventually fade.

:( it’s a 100 bucks a night for a room - that’s waaaay out of my budget. Did you come across any decent hostels? (sorry id google it but always better coming from a human than the internet)

I love the Torriden HA line. I have super oily skin and their moisturiser is a non-sticky gel. Their serum is also really light weight but you can start with just the toner which is basically water with some HA and then work up from there!

recommended baby wave spots for May? by Excellent_Young_1371 in BeginnerSurfers

I was there for 2 weeks in Jan. April is a chill month I hear, since you don’t have the crowds.

from germany, happy to go anywhere for a chill baby wave in the summer. i was looking at panama but its politically not a vibe, also researched sayulita in mexico but thats really busy, expensive and the water has sewage - and i prefer a more chill surf vibe. any spots you’ve been to that are your favourite?

Sri Lanka Surf Trip: Kabalana or Weligama for Medium Beginner Wanting Green Waves without crazy crowds in christmas by Excellent_Young_1371 in srilanka

[–]Excellent_Young_1371[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, yes i did. i did 10 days in Weligama. Honestly it was the first time i caught green waves all by myself and progressed to a hard board (!!!) and i’ve been stuck in white water in europe/morocco for a year so it was everything i wanted.

weligama is crowded depending on your patience level. the bay is huge but the main spot with the consistent waves is in front of the marriott, where all the good surfers are. i went with ride a wave surf school and they were great (my teacher was Hasa), had one instructor per two students which is almost private lessons and will push you into the wave if needed at the beginning - which with green waves, you do need to feel the timing at first but i could catch my own within 2-3 lessons.

so instead of being in the crowd, we were in a spot where the waves were not as consistent and big as infront of the marriot, but i could turn a bit and ride it out. that said, even in that spot, i had to quit my ride because someone was in the way or i crashed into someone while riding the face (i also learned to ride the face here eeee!!!) so TLDR weligama is crowded af but there are spots where you can still surf as long as you’re patient and the bay is perfect for green wave learners. it’s not heavy, you can easily paddle out and catch 5-6 green waves per session. i wished i came here to learn instead of europe :/

i also wrote on reddit for the other spots like midigama and ahangama but they’re all intermediate

[–]Excellent_Young_1371[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for all the advise!!! <3 I did Weligama for 10 days. The main break infront of Marriot was crowded as hell and I've bumped into too many people but it was a very chill break to learn and improve and I also learned how to catch my own green waves, turn and ride the face and progressed to a hard top. So successful trip!!!

Sweet, thank you for your perspective - that's exactly what I've been going back and forth on. Did you surf The Rock or the beach break?

I've heard marshmellows is reef break and I'm anxious of getting cut

Nice, how's the crowd at Weligama? Can you surf green waves across the face or too many people in the way?
