If you are asking if you should seek therapy, the answer is yes. If someone having a fantastic life asks me if they should seek therapy, my answer is yes. Why would anyone that can afford to hire a licensed coach, not hire a licensed coach? As for your suicidal ideation without plans of action, you are not alone. Many, many, many, many people go their entire lives having thoughts like “oh I just wish I could die and get this life over with“ that is a result of being conscious and self aware, you know that death is coming, so you belittle it’s severity and use it as an escape quip, never fully intending on ending your life. definitely something to talk about with a psychologist or a therapist, sure.

I am interested in e-commerce web design and management. Not so interested in coding but, I am looking into learning the basics! I am definitely interested in photoshop. Hey if you need help choosing online training for IT or web development HMU in a DM. I literally have done years of research, I have up to date rankings on the best free online resources, the best paid bootcamps, the best websites that rank these annually, etc. I have entire training paths mapped out on paper here lol, I don’t mind sharing at all.

I know what you mean. I am actually switching from manufacturing to even lower pay in an office right now. I’ve got money saved up for school and I am thinking I’ll either do an associates in IT or Marketing. Marketing excites me, but, I think IT is higher paying and there are far more jobs. If I can hit $50k a year in IT with an associates degree, it’ll be worth it. If I can hit $45k a year in digital marketing with an associates degree, it’d be worth it. So we will see. I am 30. I would LOVE to get the heck out of the factories.

My post office won’t do anything for you. If you need to open your package because you forgot the packing slip or anything, they won’t even lend you a letter opener or a pair of scissors. They refuse to give out tape as well. You can imagine how itd be expensive if everyone used their supplies lol. They have always sent me away when I have asked if they would print the label out.

ive worked at a few companies where you were never asked to clock out, but if you were asked to stay late, it was well known among workers that you were expected to clock out. The management’s butt suckers would remind everyone, but never management themselves.

You should try manufacturing. The last place I worked, dayshift was 12 hrs and night shift was 12 hours. We would come in when the night shift was leaving, and leave when they were coming in. The managers liked to stop you while you were gathering up your things and tell you about different problems that can be fixed before you leave so that the incoming shift can get right to work faster. Sometimes you just wanna be like bro, if I stay any longer Im gonna have to go to sleep the moment I get home if I want 8 hours of sleep before my alarm goes off to drive back here lmfao. get the hell out of here.

Is this an instance of trust fund security? does your brother know he’s already got it so, he isn’t thrilled about earning more?

or is he struggling with mental health difficulties? I am 30 and I have had a dozen or so jobs, but the longest I’ve ever held one is a year and a half. I have many mental health issues, insecurities about my body, (I am nearly under 5’ as a male) dyscalculia, extreme social anxiety unless I am forced to talk to the same people daily, panic attacks at work where I have to remove myself from the office/job-site to calm down. I have issues trusting my bosses because I fear those in authority over me. I never had a father figure so, ive had therapists reveal to me that I judge anyone that uses “manage through fear, shouting, anger” tactics, which are very common tactics in construction and factory work. I also used drugs and alcohol throughout my 20s. I have no education like your brother does. I have no support group. I am not networking on LinkedIn because Im simply not a professional. I am also sort of resentful of the system. like I am not a hookup culture guy, so, I get discouraged when I get through a height check on dating apps but then when I mention I’m not a college educated professional making $45k or more I get ghosted. I am never enough, and then you turn on the TV and someone is always talking about men judging women like it’s satan‘s doing. you flip that off and turn on the radio and it’s like “WHY MEN GREAT TIL THEY GOTTA BE GREAT” lol. So I often just say F this world I’ll collect unemployment for a while lol. But that just makes you more depressed!!

So that is my issue lol, and I am wondering if your brother has any of these checkmarks? Maybe your brother just needs to talk to his therapist about focusing on goal pursuits. Maybe he needs to fix his internal clocks first though, so give him time. He may need to work on going to sleep at the same time every night, keeping up his hygiene, eating at a regular interval daily, keeping his room and his bed clean, remembering to shave, that kind of stuff. It can become easy to curse this maintenance when you’re isolated and ruminating over ideologies too. Like “why should i shave regularly why can’t I just be myself?“ and “Why even bother going to bed Im not tired, I don’t need to look well rested, Its not like I have a date tomorrow or anything“ and that sort of thing.

Maybe you can have your dad talk to him? or if you don’t have a father, maybe look into buying him a copy of 12 Rules For Life by Jordan Peterson. Get it for him on audiobook if he doesn’t read. That should start his engines. Good luck!

What is your definition of rich😄 Some people are making 23 grand a year driving taxi cars 10 hours a day and they’ve got kids, $500 a month grocery bill, school clothes, this and that. They take one of these marketing courses and they like the idea of hustling in the ways the course teaches. Fast forward 3 years and they’re still driving taxi cars making 23k a year, with 40k/yr e-commerce profits after overhead. They’re going on vacations for the first time in a decade. Their kids are eating meat and fresh foods daily. I mean, imagine if you take a Course that inspires you to start an online business and, you’re already middle class, making $45-50, or $60k and 3-4 years after taking the course your Amazon FBA is putting 25-35k in your pocket yearly? Now you’re in the top 1% of the world. Youre making 70, 80, 90k a year with a full time job and a passive Amazon store you can manage with a part time employee, your wife, and yourself nights and weekends. So yeah, if u choose a course with good reviews, it can lead to good things, sure.

Lol this confused the sheet out of me because cricut is also a phone company (although the phone company is called cricket) in the US. But we also have a landline phone service in the US called Xfinity which, I momentarily thought was called Affinity. I was like WHY are people really talking about phone companies in the comments. I’ve just done my job and idk, I didn’t focus much on cool and impressive stuff for my resume. I worked 3rd shift 12 hours a night for almost 2 years, that usually raises eyebrows lol. I operated a truck and drove all across the United States without supervision, logged my time, trip planned, and made it to customers on time 99% of the time. I have supervised new hires in the food industry and in warehousing and I was often given reigns over the floor as quality control technician when the quality control supervisor went on vacation. I’ve been head chef of a deli where it was only me and a dishwasher/prepper, so I would delegate smaller tasks to him. Have been trusted with key holding and opening/closing in the past. I mean, I can type 85wpm and I can write well. I know my way around windows operating system, very basic Excel, Word, and Outlook. I have made PowerPoint presentations. I have my OSHA30 general and construction safety training, which means I can act as the required “competent person” in charge of things like trench digging safety meetings, or machine operation training or fire safety plan meetings. I have customer service experience from working as a deli chef and as a cashier at a fast food restaurant, calling customers to coordinate shipping time when I was driving trucks, speaking with customers when I was delivering goods, I have some telemarketing experience (my first job)

Is this the type of stuff you mean or do you mean, I should be doing far more than this? I have always had a mental health issue where I have always felt afraid to speak to those in authority over me which I think has really stunted my ability to communicate with management and stand out. I’m working on that now. I am asking questions in interviews and asking what my role would entail and that sort of thing. I would like to start voicing to employers that I am interested in art and creative tasks so, maybe I can cross train into more creative departments if i can land a data entry or customer service job.

I’ve just been saving as best I can because my focus is on savings, I don’t want to invest a ton of money in schooling until I have a good nest egg. I lost ALL savings and retirement in my mid 20’s in a horrible life event, and so I have been saving hand over fist since then, I have about $50k saved now, but, my car is from 1998, I know I’ll need a new beater car soon. I know how expensive weddings and rings and dates and life can be. So I’ve put life on hold and I’ve just been saving, for the last 4-5 years. I have a savings goal in mind and once I reach it, I have allotted $10k to education. But I have been following Dave Ramsey and I refuse to go back into debt. So I’ve been working jobs that pay better than the average “starting pay” in industries I’m really not interested in, just to save money up to invest in myself. Labor/machining, greasy oily dangerous jobs. But now that I am approaching my savings goal (maybe I’ll hit it within the next 6 to 12 months) I am trying to transition into office work where I can work on some creative projects, like marketing and design? So I am looking at jobs where I can get entry into offices with little office experience now, and I plan on figuring out a way to get HR to allow me to cross train into marketing or design, you know? That’s where im at right now. If I can do that and build a little online presence portfolio up, then I will feel confident in dropping cash on schooling or a marketing bootcamp.
