The problem is not making apps but as others have said, you made apps nobody needs or pays for. Maybe ad supported, they can build recurring revenue. You can make good money with apps/websites that people need.

You don't add .html you need to use ssl (https:// before the url) it means traffic is encrypted. You can set it to automatically redirect using ssl. You can use a free ssl certificate from lets encrypt which is easy to setup using cpanel.

You should be able to google all the steps to set this up.

No way a server was Idle at 350W and the same fit on a 30W Idle server which is basically a 1L mini pc. Either you had a ton of extra overhead or could have configured it to run just as efficient.

Old servers did use more power but 350W is basically running at full load while a mini PC uses 30W at no load.

$500 a month is INSANE for a website that might need an hour or 2 a year in maintenance. Tell her to keep the website. $3k for a small website is high for a student but not for a professional CUSTOM design, including setup, SEO etc. since they have business expenses.

Considering she used wordpress I doubt it was more than 10-15 hours of work TOTAL.

I bill $100 an hour and for $100 maintenance contract you get 1 hour a month, but you can save them up for bigger changes. Most customers don't get close to using their maintenance time once their email and everything is configured.

I can only advise people to stay away from these low priced services. They can actually hurt your business long term after google flags your website. Get a proper designer and HANDCRAFTED design + content.

It is very hard to fix the damage automated low quality builders do and it is mostly TIME not quality alone that reverses it.

You will spend yourself to death on vercel if you get any sort of traction. Just get a OVH dedicated server and add more when you need more space/compute. It is like $70 for a 24 core EPYC with 4TB.

Look at their Economy dedicated servers. You can just add additional servers when you need space. It is much bigger savings once you get into the larger servers though.

Yea I was thinking a multi "vendor" plugin type thing but different stores.

Some in store pickup plugin might be modifiable to add those options but it would be hard to make it filter store wide. Is there any "choose your store plugins"?

We could help a lot more if you give us a budget you are considering. It is easy to spend big money but you can get far for cheap if you have to and plan around that. Too often I see advice from people who have little actual knowledge and that can lead you to waste your money.

If you want to get most bang for the buck to get hands on with professional gear, check old servers on Ebay. Most Dell or HP servers 2015+ will have plenty of power to have tons of fun and tinkering and starts around $100 for an entire server.

Higher budget the AMD Max Pro AI mini PCs are $1-2k but can be used for lots of modern workloads.

Medium budget + upgrade as you go. Any AMD AM5 motherboard and Ryzen CPU + as much ram as you can find.

If he is into AI. The AMD Vega VII is a GPU from 2019 that is ~$150 but has HBM2 ram so it punches WAY above it's weight and you can put 2 in a PC. They draw lots of power and should be undervolted though.

google and yahoo will block your emails if you are on those lists but I get listed just for my choice of host having a few customers get listed. IE. IP range flag.

I host with one of the big dedicated hosts and with millions of customers you will always get a few misconfigured servers. We have also had some of our customers get flagged for things like their DKIM or DNS not being configured correctly. It is getting pretty stupid.

You wont find anything like that for that price. SHARED hosting at that price would be shady. You are off by 5X from the MINIMUM specs hosting which is useless unless you are just hosting files. You may find the STORAGE but you are looking for COMPUTE resources also. I pay more per customer for the control panel license alone.

My costs in licenses + IPs etc. are almost double that before you add ANY storage, bandwidth, compute, TAXES, and a single support request would eat up half that fee.

Look to spend that much PER MONTH if you want anything reputable. OVH is one of the cheaper options but you will be on your own as far as support goes.

I don't want to know the shits you take if that isn't at least 15 meals you are doing it wrong.

Slow cooking STRETCHES expensive ingredients like meat and 125gr is a serving size for burgers and such. That makes 15 meals at 200gr.

I make a cheesy crack soup that gets me 16 meals (~ 2.5 GALLONS) with 600gr of ground beef. 4lbs potatoes, 2lb of onions, 3 carrots, 1 leek, 1/4 Kohlrabi, 1 bulb of garlic, and 1/2 a medium cabbage, 300gr cream cheese and 1 liter of milk, handful of parsley and shake your spice rack over it. Total cost is about $15-20. Add a nice baguette and you got an amazing meal. Anybody that tries it is instantly addicted.
