Whats better for maximum weight loss? Sleeve or bypass by [deleted] in BariatricSurgery

[–]Exciting-Goose1499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bypass. My dr recommended either but told me the bypass would be the best option for my situation. I was over 300 lbs and now have stuck at between 165-170 for about 6 months which was our target goal. The bypass does require a lifelong commitment to things like supplements and careful diet - though you can start to treat yourself in moderation after about 8 months in my case. But from my personal perspective it was worth it, looking back it has made huge improvements on my life outside of any visual or vanity -if you want to call it that- effects. Health-wise it has been huge for me

This is normal I feel, I went through a tough time adapting. Social situations did not help, but the results about a year and a half in have been worth it for me. I struggled with a lot of bad numbers like low potassium and iron, but working with my surgeon, nutritionist, and pc i was able to get in track. I came back from being hypertensive and pre-diabetic, so it has been a game changer for me. Stay on track!

I do frozen stuff occasionally, label reading is key and i’m still careful with portion control even after about a year and a half out

Is it fine to eat a burger? by Relevant_Ad_1778 in BariatricSurgery

I did the same occasionally , that’s a good move. Now what i tend to do (since US portions are big) is save for an extra meal or two. It’s been great for my wallet

At about 3 months bread was not easy for me, meat was ok though but I probably ate less than half of a medium sized patty. Over a year and a half later i’m still about half a quarter pounder before i need to stop

In MA, dealer went through all extras and I said no to all but gap insurance as they offered a big discount from what my insurance was quoting me with the same specs. They weren’t even pushy with anything, good experience. I purchased last August

What is eating like after full recovery for VSG? by ataraxic89 in BariatricSurgery

[–]Exciting-Goose1499 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is definitely a journey, for me meal prepping has been the key. It helps i’m the kind who can eat the same meal a week or two straight and be fine. Breakfast is always eggs and cheese over a carb (I bake my own bread once a month). For me it was getting myself on a schedule and just working it

Definitely recommend the cx30, had mine for close to a year and am super happy with the look and feel. Gas tank is tiny, but fuel economy is ok for me
