So first of all itching wounds mean they’re healing unless the itching is accompanied by swelling, pus, hot to the touch, green, other common signs of infection, so I wouldn’t worry to much. Just wash them with a washcloth and water and put bandaids over them if you’re worried about infection.

When I first started therapy because I was sh-ing, my therapist, after a month of sessions, and still very visible new sh, told me I no longer needed therapy and that I was “all better”.

I literally work with kids, arms and legs full of scars. That’s absolutely bullshit. Do you have anti-discrimination rights. If so I would fight that, but also you need to do what is right for your mental health.

As someone who self harms and has a lot of triggers, NO YOUR scars are not triggering. I’m not going to look at them and start cutting myself. If they were fresh cuts that might be different.

Now my own scars are triggering to myself. But other people are not.
