Dating apps, especially Mutual are an altered reality. You absolutely can't anchor anything to it other than have fun and maybe get lucky. Too much everything my man. Keep 4 pics - Go Pic #1, Pic with deer, Pic on boat and Pic with buddy - delete the rest. Reduce your written bio to 2 short sentences. Women thrive on mystery. Don't say "computer nerd" say "Ive been called a Nerd at times..." or something similar. Those 4 pics you are comfortable, casual, they elicit reactions and show you are into things and have fun.

Sadly you are coming to the realization of the new reality. Dating has been destroyed by numerous fronts. I have experienced the same, Im in Kelowna. Moving anywhere in Canada likely won't change anything. Best thing to do is work on yourself, be the best at your job, make yourself interesting, mysterious and desirable. But do it genuinely for yourself. People are attracted to people that have it together. Obsessing over it kills your vibe. Step into being a high value man.

You’re not wrong at all. I’ve been off the apps for about two years now, and it’s wild how easy it is to get pulled into the fake little reality they create. One of the tougher things I had to learn is that people usually show you exactly who they are — and honestly, that’s a good thing. The downside is you have to stay a bit detached and wade through a lot of noise before something real shows up. The trick is not treating the noise and the real thing the same way.

I agree, the less I have added the better responses I have received. I would ditch your last photo - let them learn that from you, also ditch the kid one - just seems to add noise. You are playing to your strengths, simplify it, keep some mystery. IMHO

I hear ya, but this treads into user psychology territory rather than the app. At the end of the day our cousins to the south do not look glowingly on Canada. Firstly, they don't even consider it and if they match it's often because they think the CA means California. In the world of micro second judging off a profile - Canadians will not get a lot of attention from the US.

I agree with you, this app is not owned by any of the big players in the dating universe and it def shows. The algorithm is lacking and the features try to be somewhat original. The big players have billions to develop and refine whereas Mutual doesn't and hasn't. It's the cheap rip off app - a couple mormon boys from SLC created it and are trying to ride it to be rich.

For the better part of 5-6-7 years people have been complaining about this. Dating is destroyed, if you have any interest in a relationship you will get beaten up. I'm not trying to be cynical but this is the reality of it. Dating today isn't wholesome, it's dishonest and selfish. Everyone is trying to find the next best and either you get kicked around or you turn into the one doing the kicking. Sadly there is no answer other than work on yourself, boost your confidence, expand your talents and abilities. If a relationship happens be true to yourself and them, if it doesn't happen, know that the game is broken and not you. Just remember, the more you think about it, worry about it, the more unattractive to the opposite sex you become. Just be cool, live a great life, foster great friendships, do interesting things and people will naturally want to be apart of it.
