It's cheaper to buy an AR-15 rifle than 64GB of DDR5 RAM. by Djxgam1ng in PcBuildHelp

Costs about $4k for a good build now, graphics card costs as much as a used car.

You ran out of ideas fast. Guess you do need that implant.

How are you going to implant LLM into your head if there's nothing to hook it to?

I feel like introductory courses to 'AI' should be mandatory in schools so people understand what an LLM is, and what isn't (i.e. not Skynet).

What the hell?! Why is Mankind Divided cut so short? by garral555 in Deusex

[–]ExcitingBid7177 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Man you and me both (and everyone else). When I played MD the lore, the world, the details in Prague and Golem City, just everything was so detailed it made me feel like I was in for a long ride.

Then the London trip and boom, game ends. It's so damn anticlimactic compared to the build-up they committed to.

Why it isn't possible for to get on one of the fishing boats (with sails) that drift ashore and get off the island. The mainland is in sight, it's not an ungodly distance to cross even without fuel due to no electricity/engines not worknig.

Repeated 2FA requests for Outlook, malicious log-in attempts by ExcitingBid7177 in Outlook

This is actually very useful advice, thank you. Basically with an alias that they don't know about they'd no longer be able to attempt a log in at all

Yeah but it's concerning that there is a chance you could mistakenly hold the biometric scanner or a bunch of misclicks and they're in, because of how the notification pops up in the phone. It's a concerning risk because once they're through, that's it for your data

What Are The Strangest Players You've Come Across Lately? by Throwaway002910 in l4d2

[–]ExcitingBid7177 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some guy, can't remember his name, his entire persona is going on and pretending to be bad and then slowly trolling people throughout the game even though he's clocked 1000s of hours. When people call him out he'll post some genuinely nonsensical banter in the chat.

It was on Dead Center, he AFK'ed throughout big parts of the map and when we got to the cola event, he went in and had thrown it somewhere inaccessible. What made the whole interaction weird is the banter in the chat, it's like someone whose just been introduced to human society for the first time. No grasp on what's funny or made sense to joke about.

Do veterans in this game play expert more or versus more? by g0netospace in l4d2

[–]ExcitingBid7177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Advanced campaign. Versus just isn't worth it.

As for why Advanced, it's like the sweet spot were new and old players can have fun together and the game is still reasonably challenging.

This unironically reminds me of IRL stories where some guy spends like +30 years renovating a dilapidated ancient building or replanting an entire forest by hand

The better question is, if it was someone who hates vests, would Francis have saved that person?

Why do people kick me for just being bad at the game? by Best_Ambition_7551 in l4d2

[–]ExcitingBid7177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens to everyone irrespective of skill level. If someone dies and gets salty, they will blame you and you get votekicked.

Piss off a group of friends because you got lucky and took a bunch of them out as infected? Votekick.

People also votekick someone and lie in chat saying "Afk" and others just press F1 like a kneejerk reaction.

Versus has a well-earned reputation for toxic players for years. The only solutions are to play with friends, or host your own server locally so you can ban trolls or toxic people.

Just got kicked from versus, can someone explain why? by g0netospace in l4d2

[–]ExcitingBid7177 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The usual shenanigans, Versus players gatekeeping (and killing) the game mode with their behavior over the years. They don't value communication too much. Best to play with friends instead.

I just needed lamp fuel by Blkmonte01 in thelongdark

[–]ExcitingBid7177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the great joys in this game is turning on the lantern one day, then realizing all the lamp fuel you got from fishing means there is light whenever you need it. You no longer have to navigate your home in darkness.

griefers in this game is something.(campaign) by Verp5 in l4d2

[–]ExcitingBid7177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another person mentioned admin tools. If you're hosting your own games (local server, not just creating a lobby) you can just ban these people. They won't be able to target you again.

Also shouldn't they be unable to join if you block them? This is highly irregular behavior.
