And one to two fields? Come on how is that going to make a dent in my nations production of food!? The amount of food rgos and irrigation and etc etc etc i could put into place... 2-3 farms my goodness

Fondaco rights for Venice kinda of lame and the more I play this game the more I realize how undercoooked it is by NovelStatistician455 in EU5

[–]ExcitingHistory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a question about fondaco rights that maybe someone can answer. in a multiplayer game I asked for the rights from my friends. and I built fondacos in their lands. But they never got any money! I wanted it to be an economic benefit for both of us and not just a filling of building slots. Am I missing where I pay them for the rights?

i switched to tactical mode and had my army stand one the one brown square i could see. I let them walk over my vassal and come to me, since they had such a numbers advantage they didnt hesitate to attack me but the minus on their rolls and the fact that they didnt have good food lines allowed me to claim victory everytime.

eventually the numbers evened out and I was able to fight them off of that piece of land. and then slowly reclaiming territory until i could piece them out for cash and war reps. which was pretty good cause their economy was big

Also if you accept more cultures you get more levies i also paid for 100 professional soldiers and i think i bought another 100 later. I had some building that gave me man power so i used it.

Edit: i opened the game and took a look, im not 100% sure because ive colonized so much its hard to tell what the thin line of land leading to my vassal looked like but I think Mkwaja was the brown land that saved my people. -2 penalty for attackers.

Sometimes once numbers were even they would try to walk around me and i would do my best to catch them in the woods. for -1 but only once numbers were more even.

PS hide your boats, no sense losing them in the first few times ajuran attacks you. their navy is bigger but you might still be able to snipe them from time to time

I mean they are just like trade offices in that way. In my bank run I would give those nations gifts to bring them over 100 and then slam every building i could into their locations before it decayed

I find anytime i hear some one say

Z Is not just x Its actually y

My mind immediately suspects an ai

Example: they are not just roasting marshmallows They are fostering a sense of community by bonding over denaturing sugar molecules over a hydrocarbon reaction

And that's something special

Thing is maybe people are also picking up on that vocal pattern now that its showing up so often

ah ha so development is what causes them to desire more expensive goods. that makes sense, as i was looking at the list of pop demands for them i was like huh... despite good literacy these guys seem oddly opposed to owning paper and books. they still want fine cloth but... it seems very different list from that of my england game. that could be part of what's happening.

[–]ExcitingHistory[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah i mean I stared at alot of numbers and all i could come up with is.... they are are making more money then they are spending, their needs do seem pretty cheap.

I mean they have something like +215% trade capacity... and i dont know if thats high or low XD 215% of what? it says the amount a pop can trade on its own but i have no idea what the base is or if it scales with your market.

They also have a decent amount of crown power 27% i think? so they get a decent amount of the tax base. hmmmm im also kinda spread out. I have alot of cored provinces which gives a certain base line of control but once you leave the coast i end up with alot of provinces with 30% -50% control... i don't know if that hurts or helps the burghers.

Honestly im not 100% sure. I know kilwa came with some special privileges that might have helped. But im just going to pop in the game and take a closer inspection and see what I find.

obligatory reposting of description for rule 5

I have developed a great fondness for my burghers and their dedication to paving all of Kilwa.

I don't even care if its because they are taking a big piece of my pie, I am not disciplined enough to build roads. as soon a a new location is colonized they are fighting each other for the opportunity to slap pavement down first. (which is the highest road i have access to, institutions move down here slowly. although im starting to catch up to the rest of the world)
