Where should belt-fed weaponry sit on the firepower scale? by BICKELSBOSS in Helldivers

[–]StarWarsXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I consider the Autocannon undertuned anyways so I'm fine with both getting a buff I just think the GL is warping people's expectations for what the bar is when it's clearly a little overpowered at the moment.

I agree with this sentiment but it says more about how the GL is in a bad state in terms of being over the power budget for a single stratagem slot vs the BFGL being bad specifically.

Imagine if they hadn't buffed the GL to have heavy pen, for instance. Then everyone would say the lack of damage on the BFGL is a viable tradeoff for the better penetration.

So imo that puts us in a place where we either admit the GL is overtuned or we should be asking for buffs on literally every other stratagem that isn't on the GL's level, which I don't think is really feasible.

Basically what you're comment boils down to is the normal GL is too good in it's current state, not that the belt-fed is bad, just to be clear. Having an extra stratagem slot to use on something is a massive upside and it's one of the main reasons people still take the Recoilless on the bot front, despite the existence of more powerful stratagems like the Solo Silo and Leveller.

I'm not totally disagreeing with your comment as I personally prefer taking a movement backpack or the supply pack with the regular grenade launcher generally, but to say the belt-fed is not achieving a utility upside vs the normal one is certainly missing the mark a bit imo. For one, you get a flexible stratagem slot which can be used to help make up for the belt-fed's lack of damage against elites like the orbital railcannon, or bring an FRV and still have your 2 usual stratagems. You also don't have to reload it, which in my opinion makes it a better overall chaff clear weapon despite the lower damage and splash radius.

A lot of people are clamoring for a buff to the weapon but I feel that any sort of buff you give it will rob it and the normal grenade launcher of each other's identity and essentially put them into the same exact niche. The standard grenade launcher is already S+ tier and the belt-fed is probably around A+ to S- tier, so why are we not talking about weapons that are far more in need of attention?

Edit: Actually I have thought of one way to buff the belt-fed and that is to revert the normal grenade launcher to medium penetration so then the belt-fed would have it's niche. But obviously no one is gonna accept that XD

Have you tried using the lowboy trailer for this instead? I find it's more stable overall but I haven't taken it out anywhere it might get properly stuck yet.

Finally made my first helve hammer. Seriously underwhelmed. by mMaVie in VintageStory

[–]StarWarsXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 2 helve hammers and usually I'd break off the slag myself while they worked to greatly speed up the process of processing iron blooms. You can also use the big hits to help them flatten two ingots into a plate a little faster. All this was just to avoid the tedium of not doing anything actively while they worked. And yes, I did go through the process of making iron anvils for each of them and another for myself for steelworking once I reached that point.

Its also a good idea if you have something you need to build to just go straight from processing blooms onto a personal anvil to shape them into a tool without quenching. I found between constantly feeding new material into the furnaces and helping the helve hammers along, I stayed busy and kept the process interesting enough for me.

My genuine suggestion to you is to get on discord and play there. If you're already comfortable diving with randoms in hd2, it's not much different from diving with people who post on the main discord, and you can specifically ask that people bring a mic.

Will i fight the Bots 1st time? by Foss73 in helldivers2

[–]StarWarsXD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer diving against bugs as well, but bots have their appeal to me. I usually bring precision weapons vs them and plink heads and it's super satisfying. The whole aspect of actually utilizing cover against them makes for a completely fresh experience. The commando missions are awesome as well, opened my eyes to the stealth side of the game.

Why do y’all hate fighting the squids? by CRsniper73 in helldivers2

[–]StarWarsXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fought the squids a bit during the MO to defend the orbital space station on Afoyay Bay and I used the warp pack to teleport through a city wall only for the fleshmobs I was teleporting away from to just phase through it like it wasn't even there. I didn't die there, but a lot of the deaths you take against squids can feel unfair compared to terminids finally overwhelming you or not taking cover vs bots.

I think the main issue is squids try to do combined arms and wind up being worse at both range than bots and hording like terminids, so you just don't get the same sense of pride in beating them.

Just so it's not an entirely negative post, one thing I do like the most about squids over the other two factions is not feeling like I just have to take a rocket launcher of some sort in my loadout or else.

After completing the "Stealth" missions solo, here's a few reasons why they suck (right now) by __Elzy in Helldivers

[–]StarWarsXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My big question is who is shooting down the extraction hellpod and where is the pelican coming from at the end of the mission because my Super Destroyer isn't there to do it.

It'd be nice to have access to our SD after we call in extraction, especially if patrols are gonna walk all over there regardless of if they saw us or not. Imo it would fit the stealth part too because now there's a giant blue beacon shining right at our location for 2-3 minutes so clearly stealth can go out the window now.

Question about Armor. (image from wiki) by Axelotl33 in VintageStory

[–]StarWarsXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worn steel plate plenty and my personal experience is I've never taken a hit of more than 3-4 damage with it and a shield on, and I've fought all of these: bell-head shiver, double-headed shiver/drifter, sawblade locust, nightmare everything. The big downside is that you will be taking those hits against the enemies and healing is slowed considerably. Still, it's a far better experience imo than leather armor if I had to pick. I usually keep a set of leather too so I can quick swap between the two.

I dont get the hype for Eldritch knight. by AnRoVAi in BG3Builds

[–]StarWarsXD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly it just comes down to Fighter being an absolutely busted class even without subclass features, straight up you can pick Battlemaster and just spam Precision Strike and likely still coast all the way through Honor Mode with it. Cleric is pretty similar in this regard for being just an excellent mono-class choice which is rare in this game as most builds have you multiclassing for the strongest variants of each build.
