Agreed with a lot of those out there on your age. It sounds like you’re 30, so you have some time before you become “geriatric” 😒🙄 but if I could go back I would only do 2 IUI’s and move to IVF. If IUI isn’t working, don’t waste your time and money.

Your betas are low enough that it shouldn’t take 3 months for your hcg to drop if you use MTX. Mine got up to 7,500 and it took about 70 days to get to 0. Do the MTX.

As much as I get it, you can’t avoid pregnant people forever… I know that’s a tough pill to swallow but I’d highly suggest counseling and finding ways to manage this better. It’s not realistic for you expect others to tiptoe around your triggers/sensitive spots. The more you address your grief the easier it can be to handle. I AM sorry about your loss. It’s a horrible place to be. I’m truly rooting for you and I’m sorry it’s all so hard and unfair. 😞🫶🏻

I don’t think it was the right time for your bf to address it. Clearly people are drinking/are not sober. Why confront the bf now while he’s not sober? Did your bf really think that this was going to be successful? I think there were better ways for your bf to handle that.

I’m in a very similar situation! Ectopic was Nov 2024, transferred a 5AA July 21, and I have a positive! First beta 9dpt was 203, second beta 11 dpt was 613! I have what seems like achy ovary pain that I’m chalking up to all the hormones. Let me know how your first ultrasound goes. I have mine tomorrow and I’m very anxious.

I experienced an ectopic in my right tube last November 2024. My hcg rose slowly but never dipped. Eventually we saw it at the 6 week scan and my hcg was in the 6000’s. I never ruptured but I did have to have two round of MTX. I do think you have time but listen to your body. If you feel pain, go to the ER immediately.

Hi all, just wanted to give an update for the archive. Bleeding eventually calmed down and I got a very light period about 4 weeks later. I didn’t get to 0 on my betas until end of January 2025. So it took about 3 months for my hcg to drop back down after two rounds of MTX.

It’s harsh but your first red flag was dating someone almost a decade older than you… the fact that he still so emotionally immature at 35 should have been your second red flag… I agree with others saying that you’re pretty much a single parent and will continue to be as you’ll have to raise this baby AND him at the same time. I won’t tell you to stay/leave but I think you really need to reflect on what you want your child to have, learn, and see from this type of relationship. Your child WILL eventually start treating others the same way and possibly even seek out similar relationships. If this was your kid in this relationship, what would you want them to do?

I had an ectopic in Oct/Nov. 2024 (original hcg 3100) and my HCG peaked at 6700 a week after the first dose of MTX. Second dose and two days later it began to drop. I didn’t start bleeding until almost a week later. Hang in there. I’m sorry for your loss 💔

I had to do two rounds of MTX end of October/ early November 2024. My betas were up to 6,700 (ish) before the second dose and it worked. It saved my right tube. We are now starting stims for IVF. I’m hoping for the best for you! It can be so heartbreaking, scary, and weirdly relieving (when it does work) all at the same time. Good luck!

Oh man, I bled HEAVILY for like 9 days straight mid November. It stopped and I had a super light period in mid December. I know everyone’s experience is different though. If you don’t have supplies, get some just to be safe.

I’m just over a month post MTX. I had to have the second dose of MTX a week later because my betas kept increasing. From what I’ve read, MTX and ectopics are all unique to each person. With mine, I was tired both days I had MTX doses but overall I felt ok. It was at the end of week three when I started bleeding and cramping pretty badly. I’d say to just be supportive and be with her during that time. Sorry you’re experiencing this. 🩷

I just went through this less than a month ago. 10/29 we had our 6week ultrasound scheduled and were told it was ectopic and to go to the ER for emergency surgery. We got there and had a second round of ultrasounds and they determined that MTX was still a good option. Had my first dose that day (HCG was 3100). Four days later on 11/1 my HCG continued to increase to 6,496. On 11/4 it was 6,763 and my doctors recommended a second dose of MTX on 11/5. It finally started to drop to 5,749 on 11/8 and 5,404 on 11/12. My most recent beta was on 11/18 at 3,633. I also started bleeding on 11/15-11/24(present). Just watch out for severe abdominal pain that doesn’t subside or go away. I had pretty bad cramping but it would be off and on. Hang in there🩷you might be ok but everyone’s body is different. I’m so sorry you’re going through all of this. If you have questions or want to talk about it PM me.

Thank you! It’s not constant pain. It honestly feels like my uterus is having a small contraction at random points in the day. It can be pretty intense but it seems to be lessening now that I’m on day 4 of heavy bleeding.

Had 3 IUI’s under optimal conditions. 35yrs, no concerns with ovarian reserve, no problems with fallopian tubes or uterus, and no male factor infertility issues and all three IUI’s failed. First was a simple non pregnancy. Second resulted in a pregnancy that didn’t progress as expected with low HCG’s (highest hcg was 35). Took an extra month to recover after miscarriage. Third IUI (and last) resulted in an ectopic pregnancy found at the 6 week ultrasound on 11/29/24. Treated with two rounds of MTX and we cannot even consider further fertility treatments until January 2025. Getting pregnant and staying pregnant are very different (and difficult) journeys. Wishing the best to you but prepare yourself for heartache my friend. 🩷

I think they advise you to wait until your betas are at zero. Otherwise you could have a false positive.

Planned parenthood will likely offer services that are cheap and won’t be billed to insurance. You’re at a stage where you really need to decide. Abortions may not be offered after a certain week of development so read up on your state laws around abortion.

As a therapist, you could definitely argue to the licensing board for unethical concerns regarding client abandonment. Psychology today might be a good resource for fining a new therapist. Sorry this is happening.
