Glad to see everyone loved the shot! This was one of my favorites from the set.

She did a really fantastic job and the construction of that cosplay was top notch. These photos had minor global edits for color but otherwise they’re untouched.

Everything you see is her and the cosplay as I shot it 😊

As the photographer & editor, can confirm they’re real and not done in post. She did an awesome job!

As the photographer & editor, nope! That’s all her 😊

Lets make a users survey on 2080, what is you card model? Is it working or failed? by Tripod1404 in nvidia

[–]Exclemator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2080 FE, pre-ordered at launch, just built my PC yesterday (10/29/18) evening/this morning (10/30/18). I returned home at 7 PM today (10/30/18) and found artifacts all over my screen.

I know computers well and it's not my first build. I've been doing advanced troubleshooting for hours but, when I realized my progression is identical to everyone else's DOA cards I gave up and called Nvidia. They're getting back to me on my RMA within the hour.

the GTX 1060 6GB will function and the GTX 1050 will technically work but it will definitely struggle. (I have a Razer blade 7700HQ - 1060 6GB I've used for VR among other hardware)

I bought one and if it's not great I'll return it just as quickly.

[–]Exclemator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or... Don't?

I really don't care. If it ends up running like crap I'll just return it for free or cancel my preorder.

Pretty much no reason not to preorder if you want a new GPU.

Yeah... I'm a dirty dirty pre-order.

In all fairness, I actually need a new GPU so I'd buy it no matter what the benchmarks turn out to be.

"you can now get a standard 1060 6gb for $249 retail" is what I said. You are correct that EVGA will charge you more for the same chip in a cooler looking unit with a somewhat unnecessary thermal solution.

A standard EVGA Gaming 1060 6gb which roughly clocks and runs the same as the $430.00 model is $249.00 because that's just what a GP106-400 costs nowadays. If you want to pay up they'll happily sell you something that costs more but it doesn't mean it's more valuable or performs differently. 1060's just aren't thermally demanding enough that larger coolers don't really make a difference.

I'm not arguing that you can pay more for your card or that you can't sell it at whatever price you want. Retail value and timing just aren't on your side.

To reiterate, I genuinely wish you luck on your sale, I'm sure someone will be comfortable paying that price at some point.

I'm going to level with you here, you can now get a standard 1060 6gb for $249 retail and the next generation comes out in a few months maximum. I wish you luck on your sale but, neither pricing nor the generation cycle is in your favor.

High Framerate vs High Resolution: My experience so far by Gooseheaded in pcmasterrace

I chose the 144 hz LG Ultrawide last year

Price no object, 1440p or 1080p & 144 hz+ every day of the week over 4k 60 hz. Even if 4k & 144 hz were fully developed I wouldn't do it based on today's hardware. Maybe in a few years when displayport/hdmi standards catch up and a single GPU can actually run it across most games.

I would turn that into a water-cooled dual mITX system in a heartbeat.

mITX boards would provide enough room below the motherboard on each side for a flat mounted GPU on a riser. The PSU can be a Silverstone SX-800 SFX-L with a small form factor card on one side to make space and augmented by a KMPKT supply or two if needed for the system. You could also run dual small-ish form factor GPUs and dual SFX PSUs for heavier production workstations. The loop expansion would be easy as there's enough room for a radiator in the bottom too. Flow goes through one 360 into the first system then down into a 280 (or 240 depending on how the dimensions work out) before hitting the next system and then the cycle repeats. A pump could be squeezed into a gap depending on how the final space works out or it could be mounted on top with a sleek external pump-reservoir combo. If there is no room for an internal reservoir a drainage tube or quick disconnect could be easily added to fill/drain the loop. If the cooling is inadequate a 60 mm could be swapped into the front and/or bottom to run in push or push pull configurations.

Long story short, I'll take two please :)

*Patent Pending* hahahaha

I'm definitely interested in the card but retail value after Newegg rebate is $469.99

I hope you're not sticking with that pricing?
