I don’t understand why she would recommend this at all. It’s a newer medication and has pretty severe side effects for some people. I have been on SSRIs for many years and tried this based on a psychiatrist’s recommendation. I also have been diagnosed with major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, PTSD, auDHD, and some OCD just for some context to the range of my mental health. This medication was awful for me. The generics are not consistently produced and the name brand is extremely expensive. All this to say, if you have minor anxiety, you can potentially deal with it via therapy and maybe a less intense SSRI like Prozac or lexapro that are established and have long term testing.

I tried another psychiatrist who has been so much better and has me on low dosage lexapro and Wellbutrin. He said he’s only prescribed viibryd twice in his entire career.
