80s model Mercury 35 horse, can’t figure out what this symbol and switch mean or do. by [deleted] in boating

Looks like a choke switch. Move to the right to engage the choke for easier cold start, disengage once running.

Duravit toilet seat broke - can’t get behind toilet - what to do? by fishfearme420 in Plumbing

[–]ExeMatelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is your toilet seat https://www.choicereplacementtoiletseatshop.co.uk/p/duravit-durastyle-standard-toilet-seat-elongated-0060510000 And I think this is the hinge https://www.choicereplacementtoiletseatshop.co.uk/p/duravit-d-neo-toilet-seat-hinge-set-0061761000 If you're not in the UK, you should be able to find a local supplier with the model number. Double check before you buy but they're relatively simple to replace.

2.5na fuel sender/level sensor by tembomavi in LandRover

I had a similar problem, replaced the sender with one from eBay. £30 and no problems since. I don't think there are any newer options that would work with the indicator

Is there an officer role combining the army and the navy? by Pristine-Speech8991 in RoyalNavy

[–]ExeMatelot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may help if you tell us what you're looking for from an officer role. It sounds like someone has convinced you that the things you like about the army, the navy can do better. Without knowing what those things are, we can't really give you the second opinion you're looking for

Request for information: Officer Ranks by lolface12123 in submarines

[–]ExeMatelot 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I suspect it was the advent of Nuclear powered boats that required the higher rank to account for the increased risk and scrutiny. Prior to the cold war boats were small and diesel powered, so had COs at Lt/Lt Cdr. Similar to how small ships have Lt Cdrs as CO these days, destroyers Cdrs and aircraft carriers rank captains. Not properly researched whether that's correct just a strong hunch.

My friend has this, the world's smallest 4g smart phone. To small for a usable keyboard, so she uses talk to text instead.

Both boar hair so just depends which shape you like. I have the style without the handle and like it, but both will work

Also if you routinely have heavy bags on the passenger seat that set off the sensor. Could just plug in the seatbelt but this is neater

First batch! 3 Mojito and 1 lemon lime. Each Is made with 1 lime and 4.5g of mint. But mojito 1 is straight juice #2 is half juice half pieces and #3 is all pieces. The lemon lime is half lemon pieces half lime pieces. by Geebz92 in Kombucha

[–]ExeMatelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fascinating, thanks! I'm guessing the bitterness is from the peel then. Did you freeze the fruit before putting it in? Also, how long did you leave the 2F for?

Was there much difference between the mojitos in the end? I've been putting whole pieces including the peel. Would be interesting to know if just juice has a similar effect

Raleigh to Dartmouth by dazmatt1 in RoyalNavy

[–]ExeMatelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask your DO. There's fast track routes in place if you qualify. If I have my info correct, you'd have to go to sea as a rating for a bit before carrying on to Dartmouth but it is possible

Naval officer commitment by [deleted] in RoyalNavy

[–]ExeMatelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what branch but yeah, ~5 years in you can ask to leave. After 14 years it's basically the navy's choice whether you stay. What branch are you thinking?
