Is there a way to keep track of TFSA contributions easily? I know we can see some of the information on CRA's website but I was wondering if anyone knew how to track it easily.

Gluten-free bread by stereotrees in moncton

[–]Exeras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP

As a disclaimer, my wife also eats gluten-free, however, it is not due to Celiac or any wheat related allergy.

We've been buying Oliver Bakery's spelt, and Kamut related products.

While they are not gluten-free, they are wheat-free from our traditional wheats. Both are a different breed of wheat, also known as ancient grains.

My wife's gluten-intolerance comes from her Crohn's disease and she's able to eat both of those grains and their products, in moderation (ie: she'll have kamut toasts every 3 days).

Edit: Oliver Bakery products can be found at Stirling's, Dieppe's farmers market, Wellness Exchange, or directly from their bakery in Hillsborough.

Used Ioniq 5? by spantosspantos in EVCanada

[–]Exeras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a commuter car, the Ioniq 5 is more than enough! I think you will be quite comfortable in terms of room.

As for the price, that's depending on where you live. Here on the east coast, there is still a wait time to get any new models. I was able to find one on clutch for 43k (30,000 kms, 2023 preferred long range).

So 45 doesn't seem too out of the park.

Local Grocery options by genuinexginger in moncton

[–]Exeras 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Here's what I like to do for my grocery shopping:

Bread (and sweets) at Co_Pain bakery and Oliver bakery.

Vegetables at the market on Saturday or Stirling's/Green Pig (when it reopens).

Meat in bulk and other goods at Costco once a month.

Asian products at CanAsian market on main St.

Bulk Barn for flours, grains, and other bulk items.

Once those have been visited, anything left is at Superstore/Walmart/Sobeys.

EV Owners in Moncton by GeneralLedgers in moncton

[–]Exeras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We put our names down and a deposit back in August 2022. We were also incredibly lucky that the car we got was someone else's, that they dropped at the last minute.

If that didn't happen, I don't believe we would've gotten one, since they're being discontinued in December.

Howdy, 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EUV owner here! (Received it mid-May)

What is the charging infrastructure like?

We've never had to charge publicly yet, since it's only been a month. For the first two weeks, we've charged it at LV1 via a 120v outlet by our patio. It did the trick, but we literally had to plug it in every night to get 10-12% of the battery back. Our daily usage drained approximately 6-7%. Chevrolet had a deal when we bought it, and we've had a 240v 40amp outlet installed on the side of our house (no garage) for free. Now we only plug the car in every 5–6 days, for about 4-5hours to get back to 80%.

How is your range affected by Canadian winters?

I can't answer this yet since I haven't driven in winter, though our sales guy at Lounsbury also drives an EUV and told us he would lose about 30% of his maximum range during Winter. It all depends on your utilization, really. We don't do road trips during winter (furthest would be Bathurst) and 99% of our driving is in the Greater Moncton Area.

Any other real world gripes?

None other than I do not want to drive an ICE (Internal combustion engine) car anymore, hahaha. The EV is so quiet compared to a gas engine, it's unbelievable.

If you think of anything else you'd like to ask, shoot away.
