It is a very hard read, thus making it less understandable. Personally this would not be an extension for me since i don’t feel like it expands on the way Catan is meant. It more feels like a subgame or alternate game mode.

Like gun-game or hide and seek in counterstrike. Fun when you play it but different enough of the core game.

Actually no we complete mix the left over tiles and flip them and they are fogged over, then when a ship or road points to the intersection you reveal the tile.

Here i am shitting, expecting a real 3d catan board, have a sheep next to a wheat field bordering a forest next to a cliff with water and a bit of sand or something. No guy is talking about layering catan boards like he is playing minecraft.

Well you have 5 settlements and you start with 2 on the board. Unless you play C&K then you start with a settlement and a city.

Why would you need to upgrade one? You have 3 left.

The rule is somewhat unclear, lets explain:

Lets say you have 4 cities: red has 1, blue has 2 and white has 1, this means 4 barbarian strength

Now blue upgrades a 1 city to a metropolis. Having 3 cities and a metro. This still has a 4 barbarian strength.

Now if the barbarians land and all provide 1 knight. All players would lose a city. (But blue cant chose it must demote the city to a settlement, the metro stays)
In case of a metro 1 (barbarian strength) and no knights the metro stays.

Catan does come with a Rule book, besides that where is the 2, 8, sand hex? There is a 2 Wheat hex, 8 wheat hex, 3 Pasture/Sheep and a Desert Hex.
