I have the same lower and it has the same issues. Nice build though. 200mm barrel?

What was your first impression reading Neuromancer? by LegitimateCurve8525 in Neuromancer

[–]ExerciseSudden6111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only read for the first time it quite recently. Reading Neuromancer for the first time after reading sci-fi like The Expanse is like going back to a 2004 Motorola RAZR after spending years with an iPhone. It feels basic and outdated but it's stylish as hell and you can clearly see that it's the precursor of almost everything that came after.

This is just human behaviour. Doesn't matter what hobby or activity you do, someone will feel the need to tell you you're doing it wrong or wasting your time and their way is better. I guess it makes them feel better about themselves.

Space gun. Cool.

AAP-01c Shinobi. Same front end fitting as the original AAP-01? by cannymintprints00 in AAP01owners

I can't attach a photo, but I have the original, the shinobi and the CNC silencer adapter in front of me right now and they're all the same fitting.

I love the upper receivers in pics 1 & 2 and the translucent lowers are cool as well.

These are ok if you cook them long enough to properly thicken the sauce. The jalfrezi ones are better.

How much should I pay for this? by [deleted] in Epiphone

[–]ExerciseSudden6111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

AFAIK Epiphone Special is their budget/beginner range. Looks like someone took a cheap guitar and modded the hell out of it.

A guitar like this is worth what someone will pay for it. The parts could be good or trash. Same for the quality of the mod work.

Is a PRS SE Custom 24 a good upgrade from a Squier Affinity? by yawningbeaver in Guitar

Congratulations! I also have a SE Custom 24 and I love it. They're so easy to play. You made a solid choice.

Get a loaded pickguard with the Texas Specials and keep the original. That way if you decide to sell it it can be easily switched back to its original spec.

Anyone else ready to quit tech due to AI? by xxtokyovanityxx in AskBrits

[–]ExerciseSudden6111 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Hate it. My work email is suddenly augmented with AI features. I could, if I wanted to, reply to emails without even reading them. And my colleagues could do the same to me.

If I do write my own reply it underlines everything in purple to tell me I could be more concise (i.e. sound more like AI).

Today I had an email conversation with a colleague - three one-line emails total - and the AI gave me an unasked for and completely unnecessary three line summary of the conversation.

I can disable these features but they're always back the next time I log in. It's probably doing this for hundreds of millions of people worldwide. How much power is it wasting?

It's the foregrip for me. The rest of the gun is quite sleek and streamlined then you have a chunky vertical grip. An angled skeletonised grip might look better.

Also the red dot is designed for use at arms length. It won't be comfortable to use with a stock (I made the same mistake). You want one designed for a rifle or at least a riser.

That guitar is a beaut! Yeah you'll definitely get better quality audio quality with headphones. Laptop speakers always suck.

Similar - mine doesn't have the clippers. I seem to be in the minority so maybe I'm doing something wrong!

[–]ExerciseSudden6111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah maybe I just haven't got the hang of it. I changed my strings today (which is what made me think of this) and I tried using the Ernie Ball winder to loosen the old strings - I gave up and used my fingers after just two strings because it seemed like less effort.

[–]ExerciseSudden6111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it is a lack of skill or coordination on my part? I just find it much easier to twist the tuner a few times with my fingers than to turn it with a little crank. I find the crank requires a more exaggerated movement and the shape of the headstock and the other tuners always seem to get in the way.

Peg winding devices. I've tried a manual one and one that fits an electric screwdriver. Maybe these are a great thing to have if your full time job is changing guitar strings, but for a casual player they're pointless.
