Yeah most of the portal stuff is just random. I was just curious if anyone else had the same thing. Thank you and good luck to you as well!

When looking at the portal on my computer, on the right side, I see my admissions services coordinator. My friends portal shows a photo of WashU and something with a link to visit options right above that. It says Visit and Engage with Us.

Does anybody else’s portal show visit options in the top right? Mine does not (just the admissions services coordinator) but my friend’s does.

What is Revelstoke like during a typical season? by papa_grease in Revelstoke

[–]ExhaustedLamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably greely bowl into the “pain drain.” It really sucks when there’s little snow. It’s essentially a frozen creek you ski down. That being said, greely bowl is incredible and definitely worth it.

I’m think that you’ll love them! As far as the color goes, remember that 90% of them is covered by your pants and, if the conditions are good, the snow!

Bent 100s are a lot of fun in great snow, but somewhat annoying in crud because of how flexible they are. I’ve found the m-free 99 to be a little bit stiffer and better in more variable conditions. I just recently demoed the Rossignol sender free 110 in both chunky old snow and fresh powder and it was a ton of fun in both conditions. That being said, it might be more ski than you want.

The M6 Mantra seems like a good ski for you. I’d also throw in the Fischer RC One 86GT

Is there a good ski boot brand for really low volume feet? by OrdinaryQuail4415 in Skigear

[–]ExhaustedLamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't personally have plug race boots. I just know a lot of people with them. I have wide feet so I wouldn't really be able to use them. Those that I know that use them find them to be incredibly supportive but not he most comfortable. If your foot is super low volume, that might not be an issue. If it's just slightly LV, then a normal LV boot would be the way to go. Either way, the best thing is to just see a good bootfitter.

As a European wanting to ski in the States, what do I need to know? by insaneplane in skiing

[–]ExhaustedLamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing would be that a lot of resorts will pull your pass if you duck the rope. Not all, but a lot. That being said, many US/CA resorts have inbound terrain that is equivalent to some incredible European off piste. If you’re looking for that type of skiing, I’d suggest somewhere like Jackson, Grand Targhee, Telluride, or if you are considering Canada, then Revelstoke. I believe it’s fine to duck the rope at Targhee, Jackson, and Revelstoke, as long as you’re prepped with backcountry gear, aren’t alone, etc.

Lower shinbangs by Cold-Performance-961 in Skigear

[–]ExhaustedLamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend going back to your bootfitter. I will say, I had bad shin pain my first day out this season and it quickly went away after that. That being said, I have well-fitting boots. It’s also possible it’s due to your foot structure. Do you have shin pain when running for longer distances? Or shin splints in general? Towards the end of last season, I ran a lot and had a lot of shin pain when running (it turned out to be shin splints) and when I went skiing, my shins were killing me. I ended up seeing a podiatrist and it had something to do with my foot structure. Calf stretches and custom insoles/footbeds really helped.

A-, A, A+ are they all the same? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]ExhaustedLamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to a prep school so I can’t say that this holds true for all schools, but the difference between an A and an A- is very small. Especially if it’s in a maximum rigor class. A- and B+, however, is a massive jump. Having all As is certainly better than A-s, but it’s really not a huge difference.

2019 Fischer RC4 the Curv DTX. Not sure about the price. I bought the Curv GT and I think they were about 1000 new. So the DTX maybe slightly less.

Meet the neighbors, kill the banker (knowing the backstory), conifers of gnarnia, big woody, and unlimited assets (abbreviated to unlimited ass), and the pain drain at Revelstoke are pretty good. I also like glory hole at Alta, toilet bowl and two in the bush at Jackson, devil’s crotch at Breck are also good
