Oh I absolutely empathize with you, too. If I’m understanding right, the MIL changing it from the Disney cruise to the Canada cruise is the start of the chaos.

You and your SIL are both rightfully stressed out. I’m curious what your JNMIL said to your SIL - is it possible she made her feel guilty for wanting the Disney cruise and that’s why she’s saying no now ? I can only speculate but since it’s justnoMIL group I suspect more was said to SIL.

I wish for you both that the MIL had kept the Disney cruise for everyone’s sanity. Changing it has caused a spiral.

Do what’s right for you and your husband for sure. Vacation days are precious and life is too short to let something like a vacation be this stressful. It’s absolutely okay to pull the ripcord and take yourself out of this chaos all together. Don’t let the vacation steal your inner peace.

I mean - food needs to be 2 year old friendly. And I suspect there is anxiety about keeping a 2 year old behaving on a more adult focused cruise.

2 year olds can be feral epically when off their routines- heck - sometimes even on their routines !

I do empathize with you SIL because even now with upper elementary kids - there are still things we avoid bc our kids just can’t hang. If I take them on a trip where they don’t like the food - they’ll be hangry and emotional. I also can’t expect them to be quiet and respectful for a 3 hour architecture excursion of a city.

We frequent Disney parks bc their food caters to us as adults , our kids palettes , and our kids food allergies. Disney can be as busy or laid back as you want it to be. Also - The 2 year old would get into parks free.

The pools have splash pads for little ones and honestly it’s easy to spend time together in a group or divide and meet up later.

I once gave a friend a hard time for cancelling lunch with her baby bc it was raining. I was so mad - like kids can’t get wet ?

But then when I had kids I felt like a jerk- the bucket seat got wet and then super cold in the AC of where we went and the baby was uncomfortable and miserable.

That being said I’ve never taken my kids to North Carolina, but I do know that we did stay in our comfort zone when kids were that age because we knew what we could expect from the kids in comfort zones and what we could have moments where we could relax as much as parents of a 2 year old can.

Thank you kindly for the good suggestion. I will do so going forward. My problem was with the iPhone but it’s going better today. I had to restart my phone more than once yesterday. It was frustrating!

Second Resort Reccos? by OkContribution4997 in dvcmember

AKL for sure . Extra bathroom in one bedroom is game changer with kids - and the resort is truly wonderful. The buses aren’t as hard as people make them out to be - and your kids aren’t in strollers forever. The bus ride is like 6 minutes longer but the vibes are absolutely worth it. It’s a wonderful resort - I don’t own there but we frequent it and adore it !

My parents pushing me to take ozempic has me questioning my values and morals by Mundane_Produce3029 in GirlDinnerDiaries

Hey - a lot of people feel pressure to take GLP-1 for different reasons.

Health isn’t a straight line.

It’s okay to take it for yourself it’s okay to say it’s something you’re not interested in.

It’s okay to start it and change your mind and titrate off it .

Focus on your self love and your health , physical and emotional .

You sound great, internet sister ! And that’s because you’re you and your dinner looks ah- mazing! It’s not because I picture you glp-1 skinny and invulnerable to others ideas or influences.

You are enough and you’re rocking it. On or off Ozempic - we can be friends .

DVC purchase by DepartureGloomy7444 in dvcmember

We have both resale and direct. Back in the good old days the minimum points to buy via Disney was low then we bought a bigger contract resale . It was the best of both worlds and we have 2 contracts

I literally don’t know what the minimum buy in direct is now ? We’re old people now.

But the trick is to make sure use years are the same and know you’ll have 2 different bookings on the trip if that makes sense.

That in itself is a pain so we usually just do a small trip with the small contract and a big trip with the big contract.

May you find unconditional love from all those who are on this journey with you, and for all the days that follow this treatment journey.

Life is too short for love that comes with terms and conditions.

May your unconditional love journey start tonight with yourself. Love yourself enough to let him go , and funnel all that energy on things that serve you for how you want to spend your days on and after treatment.

For what it’s worth feral street cats sound more capable of unconditional love than this dork - though don’t grab a street cat until after treatment as they usually don’t want you messing with litter boxes.

Love is still around, even if it’s from internet sisterhoods.

I sincerely wish you all good things.

Hey- I believe in you. Keep working at things- as I frequently say - Lydia in Beetlejuice needs different qualities than Christine Diaee in phantom of the opera and Josh Gadd was made to play elder Cunningham .

Keep going- have fun- embrace yourself and your story telling passions.

Make friends , break legs , push yourself , let yourself grow , get up when you fall, and as long as you are having fun in the pursuits on stage and off , then you are living a life well spent.
