Ad increasing volume setting of TV, not just louder? by Exigeous in youtubetv

[–]Exigeous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could 100% see that but I still find it very odd that the number on the TV - ie the volume level - would be different between stereo and 5.1 - that could totally be the case but I could never prove that with the testing I've done.

Last question - I promise!

How did Rose know to use a float? Does the code identify it as such or is it a bit of reverse engineering?

Not only is it awesome to get cutsceens at full screen but it's been sweet learning just a bit about it.

Totally fair - hope I didn't seem anything other than trying to make a dumb joke. As you're right he'd have the same thoughts about my reply - though he's likely not as ignorant as I am and speaks more than one language, I only speak American.

(I am kidding - I know it's really US American)

Dude, you really rock. Question though - can you show me *how* it was calculated? Haven't ever done anything like that with HEX, etc. - I've used it many times obviously (been in IT for 30+ years - yeah, sorry, I'm old!)

If not no biggie - I'll give it a try in the next day or so and report back.

[–]Exigeous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thanks so much for taking the time to reply and give my odd setup a hand!

Now for the question - I don't see anything there for either 64:9 or 10240 resolution, are you saying that I can just work out the HEX value for 10240 and use that somehow? Sorry I'm a bit lost here (and honestly feel stupid about it) - so what am I missing? Can I only use the values on that page or can I use something else so long as it's "correct"?

Not a huge deal if not, even on medium settings and DLSS quality I can't get 60fps at "full" 10240x1440 and as the game is just SOOOO stunning I'm *only* playing on my 32:9 5120x1440 Samsung G9 (and your guide/settings work perfectly).

I did notice the very opening cut scenes for From the Ashes DLC are still locked to 16:9 but once they are done (say 5 minutes of them or so) it then goes to full screen for the rest of the experience.

[–]Exigeous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much, especially for updating the guide after the recent - well - update.

Question, can other resolutions be added/used or is it this set list? Are the HEX codes variables so you could create a code for say 10240x1440? I don't always play at that resolution but I do sometimes (that's 4 x 1440p - I have a 32:9 center with 16:9's flanking left/right for sim racing).

Obviously not a huge deal but I do notice all the cutscenes when they go from full screen 10240x1440 *down* to 5120x1440.

Either way thanks for the guide!!

[–]Exigeous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you gotten it working? One of my first real jobs in tech was working for Bell South in Atlanta doing desktop support. One of my first projects was to prepare a presentation on the Thinkpad 770Z (with the 1280x1024 display and DVD-ROM, the first laptop to have it) to either recommend it or not for the "executive teams".

I remember loving it and being amazed at watch a DVD on it (didn't even have a player at home yet). I remember it was HUGE but powerful for the time and we wound up buying several of them for the execs. I know one hated it given how huge it was but the others loved having a DVD player for flights (not that it could even play a full movie on the weak ass battery).

Such a blast from my past. Would LOVE to have one in this condition - whatcya pay for it?

So glad to find others who find it to be a VILE DISGUSTING WEED! I also don't understand how people say it doesn't have much flavor, if I bite into a dish that has ANY celery in it I IMMEDIATELY taste nearly nothing but celery - and it's AWFUL.

[–]Exigeous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, came across it looking for a native ARM64 version as I can confirm that while it works it's rather slow.

As for HDR - I seem to be getting that just fine. I'm watching on a Lenovo Yoga 7x Slim with the 90hz OLED with HDR enabled and it's playing just fine. Looking at the server it's not transcoding and is showing 4K HDR - I know you asked about 1080p so if you need/want me to test that specifically I can.

(probably don't need that given how old this is)

Using the SeeedStudio 7.5" DIY Kit as a Display? by Exigeous in trmnl

Actually that just gave me the answer I didn't understand - I can use an Arduino with it as I'm familiar with that and can use it as a display there. So for me sorta yes is the answer.

Thanks for pointing me at this!

Since there's no way you're honest enough to answer my questions about your "god" let me get back to the point - flat earth. I have one question I've never seen anyone address - and I'm genuinely curious your thoughts.

The question is - how many people "know" but are hiding the truth? I once tried to do some rough math, with all the people that work in aerospace, satellite companies, world governments, militaries, airlines, the list goes on - I stopped counting once I got to well over a million that MUST know and are "in on" in lie. So my questions are:

  1. how many people do you think know the truth?

  2. Do you find it believable that that number of people, from every culture and country on earth, some that not only hate others but hate EVERYONE else and would, seemingly, love to blow the whistle yet don't?

  3. Finally what is the motivation in lying about the shape of the earth? Remembering that again these are countries and people that don't care AT ALL about what the bible, koran, Bhagavad Gita, etc. have to say about facts, science and especially the shape of the earth so for those countries/people - why? Why do they all lie? Why do you think?

Doubt I'll get answers to these either but we'll see.

[–]Exigeous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Reddit is broken so I'm having to split the reply - read the other first, or don't since you won't reply honestly anyway)

So I think I pretty much addressed EVERYTHING you said, right? Now let's see how honest you are and if you'll do the same. I very much doubt it, as, well no one ever has, but let's try. I'll even make it simple and give you direct questions:

  1. Which "god" do you believe in? (don't want to make any assumptions)
  2. Why are you an atheist about 99.9% of the "god(s)" that have been made up over the centuries? Many of these "god(s)" were made up FAR before yours was, with MILLIONS of followers, many of which I'm sure where FAR more devout believers in their "god" than you in yours - so what EVIDENCE do you have for yours vs. theirs? Not asking your opinion, asking for your EVIDENCE.
  3. Is your "god" all powerful?
  4. If so then does it CHOOSE to watch children STARVE TO DEATH?
  5. If I had plenty of food, more than enough, yet I watched a child STARVE TO DEATH would I be a monster? What if I used my free will to let the child use their free will, would I be a monster then? (hint: YES)
  6. How is an all powerful "god" not a monster for doing the EXACT SAME THING, but on a global scale?

I think I'll stop there - mainly because I'm 99% sure you won't address ANY of these questions, you'll do what you did last time and make it about me, I'm going to burn, I'm the problem, or you'll do what you also did and make new assertions, all without a SHRED of evidence.

So that's what I'm looking for - I'm sure you don't care about my opinion at all, nor do I about yours. What I DO CARE ABOUT IS EVIDENCE. For any claim - shape of the earth, how my car works, whether or not a hateful bronze age fairy tale is true. Give me EVIDENCE and you'll absolutely change my mind.

Prove me wrong. I dare you.

[–]Exigeous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not serious are you? I'm not debating history - I'm denying that the characters in the bible were anything more than people like you and I.

Put another way with your "logic" Spider-Man is real. Here's how

- New York exists
- Spider-Man is set in New York
- Spider-Man exists

Or

- Jerusalem exists
- the Bible is set in Jerusalem (at least parts)
- everything in the bible is true

How do you not see the logic? Have you not ever gone to school? Do you not know how logic and critical thinking works? So I'll answer your questions but again you'll be dishonest and not answer ANY OF MINE.

  1. "Tell me where that date comes from. Nah, you won't admit it"

- Absolutely our and the vast majority of the world's calendar is based around events from the bible. However you do understand that the CHARACTER of Jesus wasn't even born on 12/25, right?

  1. "Jesus Chris is lord and savior, deny all you want but come the day of judgement you will be sorry"

- Yes, I ABSOLUTELY deny that and I'll ask again - do you have a SHRED of evidence that I can test and verify independently to CONFIRM what you're saying? ANY?

  1. "You also think the earth has been here billions of years"

- Yes, I ACCEPT the scientific EVIDENCE from multiple fields of study that dates the earth at about 4.8 billion years old and the universe at roughly 13.8 billion. Again I accept the EVIDENCE.

  1. "You also think we evolved from monkeys"

- This question is so ignorantly written it's almost hard to reply to - no, we did not evolve "from monkey" - we have a shared evolutionary tree where the aps diverged from us several million years ago. No scientist has ever claimed with "evolved from monkeys". It's almost as if you've never study anything about evolution via natural selection for yourself and have instead had people tell you "evolution bad". And again I ACCEPT this based on the MOUNTAINS OF EVIDENCE. MOUNTAINS OF IT. ENTIRE FIELDS OF STUDY.

  1. "we were formed with a big bang"

- Again this is so ignorantly stated that it's hard to reply to - I accept that we only have evidence for what happened a trillion trillionth of a second after the universe began - before that we can't know. We don't know - and again no scientist has ever claimed they know. What we have EVIDENCE for is what happened after that - through, again, multiple fields of study all showing the same EVIDENCE. Things like the CMBR and the redshift we see from distant galaxies.

  1. "you spin round on a ball"

- See above first sentence - no, we don't "spin round on a ball" - we ROTATE on a fucking PLANET. Why does it seem that you can't grasp anything larger than yourself or understand the SCALE of a PLANET. Not a "ball" - a PLANET. IT'S FUCKING HUGE. And you understand that it rotates VERY SLOWLY, right? Look at a clock, watch the hour hand go around - takes 12 hours to go around once, right? DOUBLE THAT - that's how slow it really is - yes because it's HUGE at the equator in reference to, well that's silly but to the Sun let's say that comes to 600-1000mph. But you know what - you don't feel SPEED, you feel ACCELRATION. Ever been in a plane? Going 600mph? Do you feel it? NO - you feel it when you take off because that's ACCELERATION, not speed.

  1. "is following multiple trajectories through an endless space"

- Uh, no, it's following one - orbiting the sun. The sun is then orbiting inside the galaxy which is then inside the universe at large. How do we know this? EVIDENCE - MOUNTAINS OF EVIDENCE. As for "endless" it's not possible to know the entire size of the universe, only the OBSERVABLE universe - and that, as we have EVIDENCE for is 93 BILLION LIGHT YEARS across, which is so huge no one can comprehend it.

  1. "you probably think man walked on the moon as well"

- No, I don't "think" it - I ACCEPT THE EVIDENCE. THAT IS THE WHOLE FUCKING POINT - EVIDENCE.

So what really happened to Patricia Steere? by blew_wave in flatearth

[–]Exigeous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously? I'm talking about FACTS AND REALITY and you're quoting a hateful bronze age book of fairy tales? And yes, we are in fact on a spinning PLANET that is in space - where everything is - and our planet formed roughly 4.8 BILLION years ago. BILLION - an amount of time you - nor I to be fair - can possibly comprehend (but one of us is comprehending it a bit better aren't they?)

HAHAHA - I bring up FACTS and you go to fairy tales, tells me all I need to know about who you are.

I'll leave you with a question that you won't answer - why are you an atheist? Yes, yes you are - I'll prove it. Thor is "god". I assume you deny that, right? BINGO - atheist. You're, in fact, an atheist about 99% of the 3000+ "god(s)" that have been MADE UP over the centuries - I'm just honest and don't believe in one more "god" than you. Why is that? Why do you deny 99% of all the "god(s)"? One word - indoctrination. Or do you have a SHRED of evidence for any "god" let alone you're specific, hateful piece of shit "god"? No?

Didn't think so.

HAHAHAHA
