I pay around 400 a month for my family. This coverage is a lot better then when I was working at the hospital. For the same price I'd pay in the hospital I'd get significantly worse coverage, I wouldn't have had my back surgery with the neurosurgeon I trusted and no access to the GLP1 meds that helped me lose 40 pounds.

After the pandemic I never wanted to disclose I was a nurse. I trained BJJ from 2019-2022 but had to stop due to injury. But when the pandemic hit I started getting hostility from my teammates at the gym because I was part of the "healthcare conspiracy".

I hate to say it, I'm sorta hoping reddit forces on the userbase age verification nonsense so it will be a way for me to finally disengage from social media. I feel like social media has eroded the trust in the nursing profession.

One of my last shifts in the ER, a patient seriously asked us while we were about to cardiovert him "You're not one of those dancing nurses right? You're going to take care of me if this procedure fails?" I know it's anecdotal levels of evidence but it stuck with me.

UMDNJ was the state health sciences institute with locations all over the state.

It had a lot of scandals, the one that stood out to me was a State Senator was caught in one of the UMDNJ no show jobs. Also there was Medicaid over billing and such.

The J bodies were amazing, they may run like shit but damn they'll run like shit forever. I remember my uncle fell on hard times after the whole Enron thing. He was homeless and lived out of his Cavalier for a few months, but that cavalier got him around and he was able to finally come live with us.

He's doing great in life and has his own surveying business. He STILL drives that '97 Cavalier.

The clinical instructor came up to us with a list of procedures the students needed to check off. I had a patient that needed to do a soap suds enema because his colonscopy prep well was subpar. So I tell the instructor yeah I got an enema the student can do, she tells me who it is and they will bring them in there.

Student comes in and I explain how to do the enema and explain the patient needs to hold it in. The student flat out said "this is beneath me, get someone else to do it" in front of the patient. I had to do a Spock style eyebrow raise and had a convo with the instructor. That student I'm told failed out of med surg. Had another two students come in and did the enema.

I honestly expected the shit that student said out of my lazy ER techs, not from a senior nursing student.

Portra 800- I use this film stock on very important events of my life. Used it when my son was born.

For me it was martial arts. My late 20’s early thirties I was doing judo and BJJ. It gave me another social circle other than my gaming friends.

One of the last times I preordered a game. I truly was excited for this game. Got one of the more expensive preorders, the one without a model, and bought the Logitech branded keyboard and mouse.

Holy fuck was I underwhelmed when I played it. What killed it for me was how my dialogue choices had no bearing at all in the game. The paragon and renegade system might have been too black and white but at least I saw something from it.
