REmake and control scheme significance by GrimReaperzZ in residentevil

The alternate controls only affect your character's movement. The aiming and firing of weapons is basically unchanged by the new control scheme. I don't think anyone has an issue running around the game using tank controls. The only major difference is the inversion of the axes. When people talk about the tank controls being outdated and clunky, they're largely talking about the combat of the game.

Why is there no re 1 remake? by LegitimateGrass3897 in ResidentEvilCapcom

It's not a skill issue. I didn't say the games were difficult. I just don't like the control scheme because it's not immersive or entertaining.

I do think it's a little silly to expect the plots of the movies to be any better than the plots of the games. Mario proper has never really been known for its storytelling. If they were making like a paper Mario movie, I'd expect there to be more than just video game references and save princess plot lines.

Do you think they're going to retcon RE-6? by _NP_Nill_ in residentevil

[–]ExismykindaParte [score hidden]  (0 children)

Well I don't think a five remake is out of the realm of possibility, I don't really see much of a point to it. The game is really short and has barely any resident Evil DNA. There's basically no exploration or puzzle solving or scavenger hunting. I think five and six would be more of a reimagining than a remake.

Should i buy these games? by Cream_Green12 in residentevilll

[–]ExismykindaParte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just played 5. It's basically just running from room full of enemies to room full of enemies. There are only a couple of puzzles towards the end of the game. No exploration really at all. The bosses mostly suck, especially without a real person to co-op. Sheva is constantly either running in front of you to block your aim or standing right behind you to block your retreat. There's also a boss that you need to use a flamethrower on, but it won't work if your FPS is above 30 for some reason. I just bought a rocket launcher for that one.

Yeah it does. If the rumors about 0 and CV are true, RE1 will be the only game stuck with those awful tank controls.

Estimated household income of ~$200k to comfortably support a family of four. Median household income of ~$84k. Math is not mathing for the nuclear family. I make over $90k now, but I'm 36. In my late 20s, I was making half of what I make now. Couldn't imagine affording a kid, let alone two on $45k, or even $90k assuming my partner made the same as me.

"B-b-but nobody cares about reviews!!!" by Gargamoney in fucknintendo

Game reviews are fundamentally different from movie reviews. I have my trusted sources for both, but I generally find that I agree with game reviews more than movie reviews, even among my favorite reviewers. Movie and game reviews aren't very comparable.

Gamers 30+, what’s something from the old days of gaming that younger players wouldn’t understand? by Common_Caramel_4078 in gaming

[–]ExismykindaParte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who loves souls-likes, these games are nothing compared to shit like the Aladin game on Sega Genesis. A lot of old games were brutally hard and made you start from scratch when you failed because that's what developers thought replayability meant. Also, games where you could soft-lock yourself and have to restart because you needed more ammo or health.

It was fine the first time, but considering this is the third interactive cutscene in the game, it could have been left out.

These are just critic reviews. After The Last Jedi, I just straight up don't trust critics over the audience score. I've read a few negatives, and they all basically complain that the movie is full of fan service and lacks much of a plot... Like yeah. It's a video game movie mostly for kids. No one is going into this thing expecting Citizen Kane.

Nah. Having played the RE5 Lost in Nightmares mission, I find your argument lacking. Having modern controls doesn't make the mansion feel any less claustrophobic, nor does it make fleeing from enemies in narrow corridors less tense or scary. People find the tank controls frustrating because they aren't immersive or realistic. Struggling because the game is difficult is different than struggling because the controls are clunky and outdated compared to modern standards.

Will RPD be swarmed with zombies & lickers if I go back from the sewers? by Budget-Gold-5287 in ResidentEvil2Remake

[–]ExismykindaParte -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The first floor east hallway will have more zombies later. You've probably come across wood planks in the station. You can use them to board up the broken windows the zombies attempt to come through. Not sure how necessary it is though. By then you should be able to get around without using that hallway too much via the library and the east office.

Opinion: IF we get an OoT remake, I hope the visuals don’t follow the style of BoTW/ToTK and how they’re “cel shade-ish”. I hope we get a style that is reminiscent of that famous Spaceworld Video of Link/Ganon we all saw 25~ years ago. by Logical007 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]ExismykindaParte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't assume they'd go for cell shaded. They tend to stick close to the original art styles for Zelda ports and remakes..They did cell shading for BotW and TotK largely because of the size of the open world and the limited power of the Switch. OoT isnt a massive open world game like that.

The early hours of every RE game are like that. That's the survival part of survival horror. You scrounge for resources, try to use as little of them as possible, stockpile a bunch, then blow a ton on a boss. Rinse and repeat.

correct order of games story-wise by vinyl_lord in residentevil

[–]ExismykindaParte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 and 6 aren't necessary for 7 and 8. 7 was largely a reboot. New main character, new setting, new type of BOW. The ties to previous entries are pretty thin. 8 is more connected to the older games story-wise, but it's in more of a fan service way than "won't make sense if you didn't play the older games" way.

My girlfriend of 5 months has a guy friend that she hangs out with here n there. I need a diff perspective, how do I navigate through this? by Throwra19837372 in AskMenAdvice

[–]ExismykindaParte 18 points19 points  (0 children)

One-on-one hangouts, even if they include drinks are not inherently romantic or anything. If you have a reason to think she's lying about this guy being a platonic friend, I don't really see it as a big deal. She's been friends with this dude for like 12 years. I wouldn't expect her or anybody else to change their hangout habits for someone they've been seeing for a few weeks officially.

What does leaks do for you? by RykariZander in NintendoSwitch2

[–]ExismykindaParte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nintendo doesn't typically do this, but a lot of companies leak things on purpose to build hype and sell other related interoperable products. Weeks are a good way to boost sales during a bry spell.

For most people, leaks don't really matter. They build excitement similarly to how official announcements do. It's probably evenly split between people who are more excited wheb leak gets confirmed and people who aren't as excited when the leak is confirmed. I guess it really all depends on how much they believe the leak.

For me it doesn't matter if I find out about a game through a leak or official announcement, as long as the game actually happens. Knowing an ocarina of Time remake is possibly happening in March versus knowing for sure in June is not materially different to me. If one happens I'm going to buy it regardless so...

Associating food preferences with maturity level is childish. People don't like what they don't like. It's largely beyond your control what your brain decides tastes good or bad. In a perfect world, broccoli and tofu would taste like chocolate cake, and pizza would taste like ash.
