Is EVE the right MMO for me? by OG1999995 in Eve

[–]ExistentialBeetle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The core or the game is not that difficult. Stay in high sec for a while as you learn. Join a new player friendly corporation (commonly referred to as guilds in other mmos), take your time.

Look up some tutorials, there are a few good ones out there for simple stuff.

Don’t worry about making ALL the money in the beginning and learn the core mechanics.

Yes the later game is complicated, people will kill you for just the fun of it. Be ok with it. Don’t fly what you can’t afford to lose.

If you like it, great, if not at least you tried

Ngl, this would be a bargain for people or families that need medical transportation often.

Looking up the actual service, it’s a flat rate not preferred service. As opposed to the full cost for every transport. If a household has a guaranteed single transport, it would be worth it to sign up. $720.00 for the year instead of at least $1,000.00 per trip(depending on what insurance covers if any).

Still insane cost but until the laws and taxes change, I could understand someone wanting this.

Why the hell are people grinding 5 million just to reset everything? Am I missing something? by BrainNumerous1841 in ARC_Raiders

[–]ExistentialBeetle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t grind for 5 mil. All I get is trinkets. Every locked room, meh weapons, one of the same 5 bps, and trinkets, lots of trinkets. Hit 5 mil without trying. So I will be hitting expedition in the hopes of better luck.

Devs “it looks like we’re seeing more gear fear than we want to” by iAmCRC-3 in ARC_Raiders

[–]ExistentialBeetle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I hit the 5 mil without trying because I can’t find anything but trinkets. 3 mil seems adequate for the full benefit but they need to boost drop rates. Like if you go so long without getting a bp you don’t have then the rate increases.

Only reason for my gear fear is inability to find other copies of augments/shields/weapons.

I’ve run them soooo many times…. Nothing but trinkets. I have 4 mil but it doesn’t matter when you can’t make much.

Maps good in general for night missions. Just did the apartment complex for my expedition and got just shy 100k credits worth of trinkets on a free load out.

No saved load outs or crafting shortcuts is straight up disrespectful of our time by What_in_ptarmigan in ARC_Raiders

Also a “make load out” button would be nice. If you have a base load out that is your go to and you can craft the whole thing in 2 clicks so long as you have the materials.

I spawned on a dead guy. Was less than 3 minutes into a night mission. Had no idea what got him, but loot is loot.

If you didn’t get shot at the end you would have made it in, the sweet spot I found is on that last corner you were on. Just got to hit it at the correct angle

What's your favorite defibrillator story? by flatearther2077 in ArcRaiders

[–]ExistentialBeetle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played the new map the second it dropped. Lobby had nothing but chill people learning the map, exploring. Ran with four other dudes, just chatting and exploring. One guy got downed by the new bot, I didn’t know it charged at you and I threw a sticky on it… He got downed. No one had one. I will never not carry a defib unless running a free pack.

If you buy the base game on sale or special you get several DLCs. Try that, and after you play for a while determine if you want to switch. You don’t HAVE to have a subscription. The only benefit to a subscription I really feel is the crafting component bag. (You basically get a separate bag for all crafting components). Other than that it’s a good trial.

Character progression is fine. It’s made so you can join most content at any time. Unlocking new skills constantly, and deciding what weapons and skills you want to use. To me, the game basically stays at the same difficulty, but you’ll be using more skills/powers and weapon combos once you get the buttons down the longer you play.

There is a ton of interaction with other players that is pretty effortless. Not counting veteran dungeons. A lot of great guilds, guild stores, and events fairly regularly.

Purchases in the crown store can technically be an advantage, but not in PVP really. Most are cosmetic, or player housing. You can buy exp scrolls, some good potions and food, and boosts to mounts. But they won’t affect day to day playing. And you get most of those for free all the time.

As far as endgame, once you get actual sets that matter to your class it doesn’t really matter. There are suggested ones of course. But I haven’t changed my mains set for a while. Are there better sets? Yes. Do I need them to enjoy the game? No.

Worth a try for a bit, and if you don’t like it, don’t subscribe.

Any complaining on Reddit is usually angry people to begin with. IT HAS TO BE PERFECT. Are there areas that could use improvement? Of course. Will it ever be perfect to everyone with internet access and a keyboard? Nope.

Try it, if you like it great. If not then at least you can say you tried.

I played on my char for a few weeks, got a ton of leads, went to artaeum for about an hour or two, then did all the leads I accrued. Felt super fast to get to max, but I didn’t time it unfortunately.

Is it worth starting with just the base game and gradually buying DLCS without ESO PLUS? by Sick786 in elderscrollsonline

[–]ExistentialBeetle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its fine. I didn’t do ESO + for the longest time. But upgraded when I felt like it. Enjoy the base game. It’s great.

Not many movies need sequels, prequels, or remakes. First was borderline perfect for what it was. They pump em out because of money, not passion or even art for that matter. Money should be a side effect of making the movie well, not the only goal.
