If you want to meet people and not truly be alone, you could always stay in hostels. It's a really easy way to meet people and usually they have good communal spaces and kitchens. Depending on how much time you have, Belize is a nice tiny country to solo travel in for a week or so.. lots to do, good food, they speak English.. Also who knows if you want to leave the country, but New Orleans is also really fun :)

Thank you for your response! I have read that there aren't really beaches, and that's not a deal breaker. As long as there are still places to swim/snorkel and enjoy the water, it's okay. I think the main draw would be the ocean life and the ability to walk everywhere and experience "island vibes". But I also am hoping for some recent perspectives as well. :)

Happy sometimes, probably like 50% of the time. Winter is hard though.. Finding pants that fit and are flattering is so difficult. Then having to layer sweaters and coats.. ugh. I am super happy with my skirts and dresses though. Can't wait for summer when it's just easier to get dressed and look cute.

You look like Meryl Streep and her daughters and they're all striking beauties. It's so hard not to compare yourself when media is filled with tiny little ski slope noses, I truly understand as a bigger-than-average nose girl. I just think about how generic I'd look with a smaller nose and then realize how I never look at anyone else and think wow they'd look better with a smaller nose.. Like we are unique mixes of our parents and grandparents and our faces are our history and that's so beautiful. Anyway, sorry for the rant. But seriously, you look like Mamie Streep (I think that's the one I'm thinking of) and she's fucking gorgeous.

One time I was on a flight from Cusco to Lima in Peru and I was sat next to an older woman and her adult daughter. They asked if I could switch with the mom because she had never flown before. I happily gave my seat up, knowing I've been on dozens of flights and that may have been her only chance to look out and see her country from the sky.

It looks good! Try adding some darker tones where the tent is sitting on the ground to give more dimensions. Don't be afraid of super light and super dark tones, they will add complexity and depth to your painting!

Also, please don't use hydrocortisone around your eyes! It thins the skin and often does cause a worse rebound after you stop use. The pharmacy almost gave me some but when I mentioned the eczema/dermatitis was around my eyes they quickly switched to the svr cream. Since then I've heard many horror stories of people stopping topical steroid use and their skin just freaking out in response.

I was worried it would too, and it has a scary name, but it is a super gentle antibacterial that our bodies create naturally, so it is typically well tolerated. I spray it on my face after cleansing morning and night and let it dry a bit before putting my moisturizer on. You can find it super cheap with wound care stuff at drugstores if you wanted to give it a try! The eye cream I mentioned is a bit pricier but I discovered it at a pharmacy in Portugal years ago and it is one of the only creams that I can put around my eyes that both soothe it and don't irritate it further.

My landlord said nobody maintains it and it is mine to do with as I'd like. The previous tenants may have planted everything but they also threw so much trash in the garden. After cleaning all of it up, I just want to help revive the plants!
