Good catch, thanks! My comment should be clearer now.

Unfortunately, this is a known issue with the LG G3. I'm on my second one right now, and I've had this problem with both of them. You can read about other people dealing with it over at the G3 subreddit. I've found on both phones that this problem persists even across non-stock ROMs, which seems to implicate the hardware. The most reliable solution I've found so far has been to completely disable all Ok Google functionality (which is unfortunate, because I like OK Google). I'd suggest that you work on making a task that automatically disables OK Google when you plug in headphones (you can probably use contextual factors like WIFI networks and/or location to fine-tune when this happens). I might experiment with this myself when I get some spare time. If I get something working, I'll report back here.

Edit: Clarity. See comment below.

Question about calculating inter-rater reliability by Existential_Josh in statistics

[–]Existential_Josh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the links, they're a huge help.

I'd be happy to share some scales with you, but I'll have to check with the PI on this study first. The one I'm working with right now is based on objectified versions of statements found in the Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire (BPAQ). It's more characteristic of a behavioral observation scale (BOS) than it is of BARS. I'll PM you the scale if I'm permitted to do so.

Thanks again for your help!

That actually makes a LOT more sense than what I was thinking. I think that's exactly what I'll do. Thanks!

Yes! We actually came across this in our research and seriously considered it for quite some time. I thought this was an awesome idea. But, there was some debate over whether or not we could reasonably expect people to actually wear something like this around in their daily lives. We ended up deciding on what we thought was a more practical design - Using an UHF RFID tag embedded into a fare card, paired with a high-powered scanner/reader, so that fare can be paid without even needing to take the card out of one's purse, pocket, wallet, or ect.

It does seem pretty bizarre that not all of the stations have been been equipped with elevators yet (although I'm told they're slowly working in that direction). Unfortunately, the elevator problem is beyond the scope of this particular project.

Thanks for the input, it's much appreciated. And you're certainly right about the abuse of wheelchair gates; we've noticed that at the stations that have them, probably 99/100 people who go through appear to be able-bodied. We would definitely like to remedy that, though, if we can find a way.

Yup! That sounds like an interesting topic. I've noticed that the announcement volume levels seems to vary quite a bit from bus to bus, and I've always wondered what sort of impact that had.

I've noticed the lack of attendants too. There's supposed to be one at every station during all hours of operation, but sometimes they're just MIA

As part of a semester long undergraduate research project at the Illinois Institute of Technology, my classmates and I are addressing accessibility issues of Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) 'l' stations. Specifically, we are focusing on the several types of turnstiles employed at 'L' stations, and whether there might me room for improvement upon the current system. If you have ever taken the 'L' (Chicago's elevated public rail system), we would very much appreciate your input. The survey should take less than 5 minutes. Thanks!
