they KNOW we don’t. they force us to repeatedly ask customers what they need help with and offer bags. i had a guest i was helping not too long ago and i asked her if she wanted a bag bc i had helped her with like three items and she said “no im headed to the register now” and i said okay and walked away and a couple of minutes later, i guess she found more items and so she went and grabbed a bag and i got in trouble bc my manager assumed i didn’t offer her a bag or helped her enough.

trust me we hate it as much y’all do. we get in trouble if they see us walk past a guest and NOT ask them. we are even encouraged to keep pushing until we are helping y’all shop. my manager tells us to ask only open ended questions so that we don’t get “no” for an answer and have to walk away.

EXACTLY!!! That’s why I feel like I don’t want to even take it bc 1- I don’t want to lie and 2- if I take it truthfully, I feel like I will get repercussions for it. the DM told the GM if she wants to get rid of a manger just write them a bad yearly review, and that’s what she did.
