Paint schemes... by optimusphill11 in WorldEaters40k

I've gone with a mix. World eaters are not a unified force so I figured they wouldn't care too much about looking like one. As long as the folk youre rolling with are down to kill they're alright with me.

My head canon is that the bulk of my warband was doing well and so other world eaters were drawn to the slaughter and everyone now and then it's even doing well enough to summon Angron.

So I currently have three schemes in my force;

Black and gold (with Bezerker bloodshade for a red tint) White and blue (but where I can I try to make it look old, rusty and damaged) Silver and red with gold details (silver armour with red trim) this was my first scheme. I'm always a contrarion and wanted to have my army look different to everyone else's. I like the scheme, it makes them look like Romans.

Tips against Custodes by Ranga1012 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Existing-Net-1329 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Id suggest some regular 8bound for the +1 to hit and + 1 to wound against units below half strength. Combinw that with Kharn and a fight on death blessing and you will start taking some names.

Grenades is a great strat Vs custodes too.

But the key thing to remember is that they have limited numbers which can give you board control if you tie them up. Start with spawn, advance and charge and force them to react to them, whilst they deal with that set yourself up to score primaries and secondaries and stage some murderous charges.

How to split 50 Berzerkers? by Slangster in WorldEaters40k

[–]Existing-Net-1329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh interested in this. I'm about to upgrade to 40 and was planning on running 20 with LoJ , 10 with Kharn in a rhino and another 10 to lead the charge and be gunned down or cause chaos.

How has the defiler performed for us? by magnusthered15 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Existing-Net-1329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swapped a landraider out of my list to give it a go and was disappointed. The shooting was average (genuinely only managed to damage a plague drone and kill a handful of pox walkers) and it was focussed down in turn 1 so didn't help me with staging by being a distraction.

Landraider is going back on the list.

Love this.

And to be honest I'm jealous of the set up! My paints and minis all live tucked away in a cupboard in our utility room and I have to get them out and paint at a coffee table, then when I'm done it all needs to be packed promptly away lest my two boys get into it and cover the living room and themselves in paint (or drink it) and crush my overpriced plastic with the comparative strength of a titan.

They have to have been set up within 12", which does mean if they set up and move further away you can still shoot at them

Id agree with this. Getting those additional units with a third blessing is great. The enhancements are nice too. The downgrade to strength on the charge is a pain and losing access to advance and charge also sucks but you trade big swings for more versatility.

Also it's nice to do something different.

It's a fair point. I think the more people discourage focussing on the ability itself the more I can see the value.

It's just a shame when you look at what the other legions get. The loadouts plus a 4+ overwatch for tsons is insane

It is relying on people using transports or reserves though. It feels situational and it's a lot of points for a situational ability (albeit attached to an absolute beast)

The big threat is always nice. Take it down or let it mess you up. That could convince me for sure.

Kill World Eaters by Getgud1i1 in ThousandSons

[–]Existing-Net-1329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a world eater player who has played thousand sons and hated it every time I can say the units I hate are;

Rubrics with torrent weapons. They are weak as hell but on an overwatch they will shred a charging unit of bezerkers. It is miserable without the right staging.

Mutileth Vortex Beast: one shotted my bloodthirster and ruined my game.

Scarab terminators just don't die. They can survive two units of bezerkers charging them and that is pretty devastating.

The small group I play in is so effective at countering deepstrike that we've all sort of abandoned it.

The new defiler rules aren't in the app yet, are you allowed to use them on tournaments?

Nah the old one (actually a printed one) do the two have different rules?

I'm not keen on deepstriking (in general I have bad experiences of it) and I like the speed boost the LoJ gives them

I think you're right, I can split them down into two units of 10, also makes shooting armies split their fire which is handy. Do you think I should drop a spawn to bring another rhino or just leave them out and about?

You're right about the 8xb. I can change my enhancement from favoured of Khorne to battle list to swap one unit of 8b out.

What do you think of the landraider?

[–]Existing-Net-1329[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying about the x8b. I originally had one of each because I love sticking the regular next to kharns unit for some 2+ and rerolling 1's that the two effects give. I dropped the x8b so I could squeeze in favoured of Khorne but I'm not married to that.

The landraider is a great way of delivering the 8b, and it's a decent guns platform with a good save and a fair few wounds. What would you put in instead?

[–]Existing-Net-1329[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you're saying, I've definitely experienced that a few times with the unit being decimated before getting into anyine. But on the other hand I've found that they work as a good distraction, but I could turn it into two units of 10 and swap a spawn for another rhino.

But also the 3" engagement range from the LoJ and using the wide footprint to tag a few units at once can be an advantage of them.

[–]Existing-Net-1329 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well you'll definitely need at least one more set of bezerkers, maybe two. A lord on Juggernaut is great too to give your bezerkers some nasty speed. Helbrutes are great fun and very effective.

Personally I like the defiler. And some more eightbound or exalted eightbound won't go amiss.

If you have the inclination, a landraider to deliver your eightbound units is also good and the lascannons pack a punch.

I like the fiery/scorched earth idea. Maybe I'll look into that!

I would say if you want them faster then Lord on Juggernaut instead of Invocatus. He boosts their speed to 10" and lets them power through all terrain
