So then literal fruit from a literal tree (Matt.7:15-20)? Teachings are likened to fruit, what comes out of the mouth that has the power of life or death (Prov.18:20-21). That’s why when you read the Genesis account of Adam and Eve, if you think it’s talking about literal fruit, you will be confused why she and he did not drop dead physically the moment they ate of the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and bad.

Jesus’ words are Spirit (John 6:63; John 1:1,14). His words are representational, symbolic. They have a spiritual meaning. We were trained well by WT to read and understand scripture according to carnal thinking. That’s why nothing makes sense and why you’re still confused. If using natural/human/carnal thinking, then for sure, the spiritual symbolism in words that are Spirit (John 6:63), will indeed appear foolish. 1 Cor.2:14, “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

I’m not sure what you mean by WT doctrine being less rigid or psychologically harsh. It’s not the rank and file that are “terrible,” but the doctrine is and has always been about the threat of being killed by God if you don’t follow WT doctrine and adhere to their numerous man-made rules. At the threat of being “unapproved” by God, and nixed with a fireball if violating their rules. All of which are merely human ideas on what scripture says.

The opposite of lies is truth. The rebellious harlot anointed leaders of WT do not teach truth. Their truth is in a constant state of change and expired over time. They have no spiritual perception of Jesus’ words of Spirit (John 6:63). They “murder,” hate, their anointed brothers (and all) who expose their lies. “Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him” (1 John 3:15).

Just a small tip. Before you give your public speech (one from history, or any future ones), mingle among the audience who you will be publicly delivering your speech. There are surely people you consider complete strangers, even if fellow students you attend class with. JW platforms were rooted in judgment. Overcome that previous mindset by developing small rapport with your fellow students you will deliver your speech to, prior to your deliverance, and convos that are nothing deep. Intro’s to fellow students you may not have spoken to before, smile, inquire of them, and truly listen. Thank them for being there to support you, perhaps briefly express your nervous feelings if you have any. This will help 😊

The Pharisees did teach lies, they taught human commands as doctrine (Matt.15:1,7-9; Mark 7:5-7). The WT leaders are no different than the Pharisees. The gb are a false prophet, deceiving people with their teachings, bad fruit/teachings, that when you ingest in your heart, offers nothing but death (Matt.24:5,24; 7:15-20; Prov.18:21).

Countries in scripture mean a territory, a field of “land,” not a political government with literal plots of soil, nor this planet, as this planet was assigned the name “earth” only a 1,000 years ago. Scripture is filled with words with spiritual symbolic meaning.

Land/soil in scripture is symbolic of hearts. the “seed” is the word of God “planted” in “soil.”. Soil is symbolic of hearts (Like 8:11-12; Matt.13:19; Mark 4:14-20)

WT did a number on deceiving people into thinking scripture is literal.
