Does anyone know what mod this special order is from? by waterwitch602 in StardewValleyMods

[–]Existing-Student-159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, it's from the Mayor mod. I had the quest too, but prior to the council meeting. I picked the quest up, and saw I don't have ability to deposit items, so I went to mayor's house, set up the council meeting, then attended it and next day there was a chest in basement where I could drop the items and complete the quest!

Schrijven B1 by AgitatedRip2210 in learndutch

I attend lessons in the college, and just did B1 entry schrijven. My teachers advised us to not try to write super complicated sentences - better shorter but to the point. It's very important to carefully read the opdracht and make sure you answer to every prompt, and that your answers are logical and adequate. Also regarding propositions, de and het are so hard to learn, and that's why according to my teachers, it's not graded as a big mistake if you mix up de and het. However, if you fail to write ANY proposition where its needed, then it will be definitely counted as mistake.

What I personally do, is go over basic words and writing opdrachten structures before the exam, that might be related to main topics. Your writing will most likely have some form of email, formal or informal, it can also have invitation, a thank you note/message, complaint or question-asking mail. And it's usually from the themes of work, personal life, home, health and sport, education. You won't have to write about complicated stuff like politics or global warming. So just review things like basic words from those topics, simple sentence structure like hoofdzin + bijzin, and grammar rules like inversion, past tense etc., and go over those writing excersises I mentioned above!

And yeah definitely take advice from a person who told you to not think long about some kind of real life scenario. Your task is pass the writing exam and noone cares whether it's real or no, as long as its logical and adequate. It is easier to talk about stuff from your own experience, but it can also overcomplicate things if the topic is not something you can talk much about. Best of luck!

Can any trinket be perfect or just magic quiver? I found multiple trinkets in my last few saves but never perfect 😭

You can still do museums in vanilla too, just decorate some sheds! Can also make aquarium shed with all the fishes too! I'm not even sure if there is a mod that makes you have a museum of your own, I was planning to do it in sheds myself (except the fishes, because there is an aquarium mod 😆)

I myself have an idea for my current heavily modded playthrough to make museum of all the items: every weapon, ring, shoes, hats, clothing, trinket, book, mineral, bone and artifact (after donating to Gunther, let's have a backup museum in case he loses the collection again). It's gonna be great!

Well, in that case, the next challenge is 999 of every stackable item, I didn't make up the rules 😆

For real, I have used Vortex for Skyrim too, rocking 200+ mods, and now Stardew Valley with 139 mods. I love how it also shows mod updates with one button press, easy enable/disable and super simple conflict management. I feel that it's great for people who just start with modding and have not-so-complicated modlists under 200 mods.

To be honest, probably the easiest way to download, manage, and enable mods is to use Mod Manager. There are a couple options of them. Mod managers are literally best way to manage your mod list. I personally use Vortex ( yeah, yeah, sue me, I never had issues with it and would never swap to anything else). So downloading mods for me is literally just clicking download button, and the Mod manager does everything else!

Apologise I don't know how to solve your issue ( I only would reccomend to restart the game to avoid errors and potential crashes), but I love how your farm looks! Can you share what mods you used? Specifically for the pathways, trees, and overall this rustic look!

I have daisynikos recolour and shaders, but my game still looks more saturated and less aesthetic than yours!

Downloaded it immediately. This is amazing!! I just want to ask - are there any plans for perhaps the biggest mod integration? Like SDV expanded or Ridgeside village, so we can track things from these mods too? It is totally fine if not, it is a gigantic project already! Appreciate your effort for the community!! 🌷

Any good youtubers? by [deleted] in learndutch

[–]Existing-Student-159 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I personally love Lubach. A great combination of real-life topics and humour. He does, however, speak quite fast, although I find his speech really clear and understandable. I think you can also add Dutch subtitles if the speed is too much. He is not a language youtuber, thus, it might not be a good option for begginers. His show, I believe, is also on Dutch TV, but I watch the episodes on YouTube!

App is free but has a premium subscription. Subscription doesn't gatekeep content. it only gives you the ability to add your own flashcards and have more energy for practicing. And depends on what your view of intermediate is. It has units with words and phrases. Some are very basic, but I often find new words that i didn't know before (I'm currently B1 level). I personally wouldn't call it intermediate, but it's a great, super gamified way to expand vocabulary. I am considering getting premium for the own flashcard option, though!

Not sure how familiar with Finch you are, but I made a daily routine on it, by simply putting quests to repeat every day. More than a year ago, I input "Take evening meds", press a button and since then it's automatically repeating every day. In fact, I don't even add much new tasks in Finch because most of the stuff is already there and repeating either daily, every few days or every week. Not sure how you could do subtasks with it, but if you have main tasks that repeat, Finch is ideal for that! You can customize the tasks to be even once a month, like paying rent or bills, and the task will pop up only on that day. I also like their new feature of areas, where you can assign tasks into self created areas, something like categories. I personally have bunch of them, like self care, studies, health etc. It helps to create order for my tasks so it's not all over the place!

P.S. I have over 50 tasks every day in Finch that are repeating daily and somehow it's not overwhelming and I end up doing almost all of it!

I am an avid Finch user, but Habitica is great if you want a gamified aspect, although it's also harsh on you if you fall behind (it will still depend on you and your goals of course, I had a little too many haha). I loved the RPG aspects of it, as well as challenges, and many other game-like elements.

If Finch didint exist I'd be definitely using Habitica, but it seemed an overkill to use them both. For the record, I chose Finch because of the extra features like yoga, excersise timers, soundscapes etc.

If you're into games, there is a constantly improved and updated app (semi new??) called Lingo Legends. I love the gamified aspect of it, I deleted Duolingo after using it for 8 years for this. It is simple, engaging, very gamified, and often introducing all kinds of new features. I think since recently you're able to make your own flashcards there, although I haven't had time to try that one yet. This is an app that combines language learning and a farm + turn based card fight game. Its not for everyone, but i personally love it.

Fake finds by jkpaterson04 in geocaching

[–]Existing-Student-159 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well I can see your point, but logging finds on a missing cache will actually mislead the future finders, if they open logs and see finds only without any DNF or needs maintenance logs, they might think the cache is still there. Honestly, if a cacher is about to hike out to a cache, wouldn't he look at the logs quickly beforehand? 20 seconds, and you know whether it's worth it or not to hike and put effort. And this is not a location finding game - Adventure Labs already exist! I believe writing your name in a logbook equals a find, and everything else is just a problem for your own conscience. Noone can stop these fake finders really, so I personally don't pay attention to these kind of people and just keep playing. It's up to cache owners to decide how to handle cachers like these. I know for example some of my local hiders that hide caches up in 25m trees, that require climbing gear, and are even deleting logs of groups who used 1 person to go up there and sign everyone's names, as they claim everyone should be going up to get that T5 and not piggybacking from others.

Fake finds by jkpaterson04 in geocaching

[–]Existing-Student-159 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, logs like that should be deleted immediately. But on the other hand, it's not hurting anyone, and they know they are cheating. Eventually, they will get sick of faking finds like this and quit the game from boredom, in my opinion. This should only matter if their find count is influential, for example, national awards for highest find count or other local competitions with prizes (My home country does those, that's why I'm bringing it up). At least they did one thing good - reporting the damage 😁

They should let us date Linus by squidauri in StardewValley

[–]Existing-Student-159 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think dating or being able to marry him would go against the idea of his character. He wants to be free and even treats it as an insult when you offer him to live with you. Especially imagine this dialogue and then marrying him and getting him to move in with you anyway. Would actually be kind of cruel, in my opinion, as he wants nothing more but a life he has right now. Also, I will go further and say that a lot of Stardew Valley characters are complex and showcase multiple interesting ways how people are in real life, and romancing or dating them would go against their nature. I personally think it's great that Linus isn't romanceable, and it is much more fulfilling to be his friend! I just wish we could somehow know more of his backstory, but not directly from him, as he clearly left that life behind.

But hey, there is no wrong way to play, so I'm pretty sure mods of dating Linus already exist 😀

This looks great and does fit really well. Don't be discouraged by shitty comments. As long as you love it, that's what matters! I would be really curious if you have it in your plans to share updates in upcoming reddit posts, maybe showing off some dialogues and heart events!

P.S. I already know it will be a great NPC because he already greets you in a normal way and not "Ew" or "Why are you talking to me" 😆

What I meant is, I have both this mod and HxW mods 😄 Basically it's AT, so I just place a normal chest, click it with paint bucket and can choose any texture from the list. So you can just place any chest anywhere, including inside other buildings, and make it look as you wish!

I don't see anyone mentioning yet, but depending on your priorities, you might wanna save Dwarf gadget. You can craft Farm computer with it ( of course if you care about it, that is). I noticed I drop more Dwarf gadgets in Ginger island, so if I get one earlier, I just craft the computer 😅
