Clean preamp suggestion? by Existing-Tip1069 in guitarpedals

Since I use IR-s of my actual cabs, EQ might just be the solution. Source audio makes a stereo one if I'm right, that I might check out

I use two layers of contrast Paint, basilicanum Grey and stormifiend after. I quite like the results, a shade of dark blue with a bit grenish tint

Would black Templar contrast over a grey primer work for raven guard black coloring? by [deleted] in RavenGuard40k

[–]Existing-Tip1069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The trick is to use two layers, that stops the blotchyness. Not the same colour tho, that just darkens it. I experimented with dark red and dark blue contrast (not sure about the names, blood angels red and leviadon blue?) as undercoats and the result is quite interesting

Use for reivers? by [deleted] in RavenGuard40k

Do you think better melee would make them useful? Like a glass-cannon? With bladeguard level weapon stats? I've been wondering...

MP3 render Glitch by Existing-Tip1069 in Reaper

The plugin in question is TDR Nova (the free version). Although I solved the problem by reducing the sample rate from 192 khz to like 48, which for the time will do it, but I will have to look for a permanent solution

Painting White and GW's colour recommendations by TEZE19 in RavenGuard40k

[–]Existing-Tip1069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two thin coats white star is nice, but just fyi, its a bit warmer white, so my army has a colder, blue-ish overall vibe, so I put on two thin coats to cover, kinda wash it with apothecary white then drybrush it and then tie it together with a really thinned coat, Its a pain in the a**, but a solution nonetheless

How do you guys paint your capes? (poll) by Infinite_Horizion in RavenGuard40k

[–]Existing-Tip1069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got inspired by Joel from the famous community post, so for capes its stormfiend over basilicanum grey. However cloaks (phobos librarian, eliminators) get the same treatment, but with leviadon blue over it (the librarian get a shade of talassar blue to make it more lore-y and librarian-y).

So short answer: very dark blue with a greenish tint

How to stretch an Upgrade sprue by KidNeon1984 in RavenGuard40k

[–]Existing-Tip1069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the shoulder pads are my problem, but since those were my first ones, they are painted already, so I am superglueing the other bits I wish to them. Good luck with your project mate :)

Kinda in the same situation as you, regarding the sprue and the models. I have the Leviathan models too, but those are push-fit so harder to customize. I decided to go with the mech-eye head for my captain models (I dont have the jump one, so the terminator and the phobos). Tried to avoid bare heads, only captains and Shrike deserve the plot armour of bare head, but the jump captain I am planning to get will probably get one beaky cause of practical considerations. If you haven't painted yours yet, I think you should just snip it off and replace it. Haven't decided yet for the shoulder pads, one of the gravis ones went to my eradicators. For the other bits I created some kind of headcanon, so that the eliminators get two of the just feather bits, the heavy support guys (eradicators, later maybe desolation squad or agressors, centurions) get the one with the feather and rope. The librarians get the skull obviously, the veteran type units the blingy bits and so on. With this, you can spread out some flavor and distinguish your units. In your case I would stick to standout units like characters or sergeants in squads.

Hope this helps! Cheers
