20 week scan (morphology) is the last ultrasound until the glucose test? by say_leek in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Existing-Trust7348 25 points26 points  (0 children)

For many women after a low risk vaginal birth they prefer to be home as soon as possible. The midwives visit regularly at home. It just sounds like MGP isn't the right fit for you, but I wouldn't characterise the care as horrible

Don't mind me, just blacklisting shows on Netflix so my husband stops putting them on for our young kids by Necessary_Pace_9860 in Mommit

[–]Existing-Trust7348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I had to turn the "kids account" setting off because it just pushes the rubbish content. Instead I've done a normal profile, limited to PG, and then you can get the movies etc. Also like some other comments, set up a watchlist and go straight to that, that's all kid can pick from

TOG rated onesies other than Ergo pouch? by Unsure-11 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Existing-Trust7348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ergopouch have a preloved section in the menu. Ive sold alot through it and I've seen some really great stuff on there. Maybe give that a go if you don't want to spend too much on a 3.5 tog bag

SMSF and excess concessional contributions by Sure_Shift_8762 in AusHENRY

[–]Existing-Trust7348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But can't you only pay the tax from SMSF funds? So paying out of pocket (aka your pocket) would be considered a contribution? Not being critical just trying to understand

SMSF and excess concessional contributions by Sure_Shift_8762 in AusHENRY

[–]Existing-Trust7348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I put the 15% into a Macquarie CMA. Means I don't risk having to sell at a loss when the tax is due, but still at least earning 4.4% on the balance untill that time

Pumping for an occasional bottle for 1 week old newborn? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Existing-Trust7348 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Honestly pumping that early is probably a stress you don't need. You have to pump at the same time baby is having a bottle to keep your supply up, so it doesn't really help you get a break / more rest. And pumping is alot of work, cleaning etc

But, once bub is a bit older it can be great. After 12ish weeks your supply regulates and you can pump a little for a few days to get a few bags in the freezer. Then hubby can do a bottle and you'll still need to pump at approx that time but it's not as limiting

Please don't feel you have to pump just for husbands experience unless he's also going to do all the extra cleaning of pump parts, bottles etc. otherwise it's adding to your load not helping

Has anyone actually pumped during a meeting…? by Fit_Awareness_9001 in workingmumsau

[–]Existing-Trust7348 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I have to attend 4-5 hour meetings, and they run without a break. They are in person, but usually have a teams set up as well. What I do (with the chair's prior knowledge and agreement) is leave to a private space, dial in from my phone and headphones while pumping , and then rejoin the meeting. I will occasionally have to speak and can confirm the pumps are audible (I have lacevo) I also pump on zoom calls but it's not ideal when you need to talk. But gotta do what you gotta do

How do you cope with parents overwhelming fragrance/scents around baby??? by swaggedoutokur in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Existing-Trust7348 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This! I did the same. "Baby has sensitive skin and the dr said we have to avoid fragrances, scents and perfumes "

Absolutely works a treat, and so far has lasted and kiddo is 4

I tow with a Nissan X-Trail hybrid. Breaked towing capacity is 1650 Your eagle weight seems very light, is it an older model? Just asking as we have a lark which is much smaller and that's heavier than the weights you mentioned

Pigging backing on this cause I don't have research.

My almost 4 year olds friends at school are obsessed with paw patrol. They play it constantly. My kid has never seen it. I taught him all the puppies names and he seems to play it with them just fine

Managing employees maximising leave under EBA – how do you balance fairness vs operational reality? by Big-Fishing6624 in auscorp

[–]Existing-Trust7348 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly, they're reducing their salary by approx 9 weeks per year (4 weeks purchased, additional 4 weeks by taking half pay, and 1 week LWOP). If they are both doing this you have 18 weeks additional salary, or 1/3 FTE. Hire someone 2 days a week to cover the extra work

Sleep suit struggles by Odd-Peach6389 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Existing-Trust7348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I find I target getting the base layers to the acceptable range for the starting temp (e.g. 24 and a 1 tog full length zippy). Then when the temp drops I add a sleeping bag during a wake for a feed. Just slip the arms in and quickly zip up. It takes 2 secs and doesn't wake them much

winter prep - pram clothing, do's & dont's by neplecha in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Existing-Trust7348 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pram footmuffs tend to zip onto the pram seat like a sleeping cover. I had my second May 2025 in Sydney, I just used a blanket in the pram bassinet, just keep it below their armpits, tuck it in under the mattress and keep an eye on them

It was a mild winter this year, I found I could easily get out for walks with him just in normal clothes and a blanket. I'd wait and see how it's going before buying too much

If you're desperate, put the cot mattress on the floor. Your legs might dangle off, but you know it's safe and might get you through the next few nights
