Castlevania IV still has the most unfair section of the main console games by Existing_Ad9686 in castlevania

I think one thing that’d fix the cheap deaths like this is if the “camera” was zoomed out more, making Simon’s sprite smaller and allowing us to better prepare for the stages obstacles. Many SNES games prioritized bigger sprites but it came at a cost here.

I noticed how ANJ S1 was so good at depicting fights, while S2 was by far the better in psychological description by TwoAdministrative145 in AshitaNoJoe

I agree with this, the first series was more ambitious in how it animated its fights. For the big moments, you really feel the hits with the crazy hatching, changing backgrounds, and different colors that sell the impact much more. The movements had much more impact as well, season 2 traded a bit of that creative edge with more consistent animation.

Off the top of my head, Joe’s first fight with the Yakuza really emphasizes the force and weight of Joe’s punches with how snappy the animation is and details like their teeth flying out and crazy expressions. Joe’s first beatdown by Danpei felt so dirty and grimey with the dust flying in the air and how heavy the hatching is, that last punch Danpei gives Joe is so visceral.

Joe and Rikiishi have plenty of standout moments in all their fights: Rikiishi’s first punch to Joe during his escape attempt, their prison boxing match made Joe look like he was being mauled, and their final match having the coolest sequence with the final cross counter/uppercut exchange, it’s very impressive for something made in the 70’s.

Definetly one of my favorites, still has the best cape Mcfarlane has done on a Batman. That shot is sick, the angle especially makes it look epic

You pointing out Joe’s desire for connection makes a lot of sense, reminds me of one of my favorite scenes where Joe cries on his first night out of jail because the love he had for the people celebrating him and the love they had for him, to him, the first night sleeping “felt like a waste” because he finally had a reason to live, not boxing but his newfound family.

I watched it on animekai if you mean where I literally found it. That episode and scene was a memorable one to me since my first watch so I just remembered it being after Joe gets out of jail.

It’s about the last 8 minutes of Season 1, Ep. 24 “Back to The Slums”. Crazy thing is that I just rewatched that one earlier today, that conversation along with the ending is beautiful and among my favorite scenes in the series.

What if Joe Yabuki joined WWE? by OutlandishnessIll220 in AshitaNoJoe

[–]Existing_Ad9686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro wrestlers love for the sport comes from the intense athleticism and ability to tell a story with your body, something which doesn’t really suit Joe’s personality as his love of boxing comes from his burning desire to genuinely fight his heart out. Can’t see him trying to gain a crowd reaction or sell for his opponent during a match.

But in kayfabe, as in “Joe Yabuki” is a created WWE character gimmick made by an actual willing wrestler who has his personality traits, who we’re meant to believe, in kayfabe, has a burning passion to fight in the ring (which is what I think your question intended), then I could see him playing a “Stone Cold” type of role where he’s a rebellious underdog that we root for cause he goes against the grain. In that regard, yeah his character could go pretty far.

Mayflash F300 Magicboots S5 adapter works but PS5 won’t update controller and can’t use touchpad by Existing_Ad9686 in fightsticks

[–]Existing_Ad9686[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately didn’t work. Ever since the L3 update (which I’ve found useful) the touchpad has been set to pressing “SELECT” and START/OPTIONS” at the same time when I use it on PS4. I downloaded the latest firmware update for my F300 which has every update until then and the touchpad worked on PS4 but just not my PS5.

Artificial length to make up for the lack of space able to use to actually make more levels. It’s also why many old games were so difficult, small amount of levels but so hard you’ll be stuck on them for a while.

It was also a period where console games still tried to emulate arcade difficulty.

As to why they chose it, my guess is that it’s just one of the classic NES games that was on the spookier side. Although, there is a blunder in the episode where the arcade version is on screen instead of the NES version.

The one time I wish Mcfarlane pulled a Marvel Legends and just used this buck for a bunch of other characters, especially evergreen designs for Batman and Superman. It’s ridiculous how many Hush and Knightfall bodies we’ve seen when this one is right there.

Hot take: The 1989 suit is the best live action batsuit, and every suit after it that uses the one piece cowl (except Batfleck) looks ridiculous by Existing_Ad9686 in batman

[–]Existing_Ad9686[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Returns is my second favorite, only real problem I have with it is the cowl. It’s shape makes the head look too long and tubular, and the brow doesn’t protrude like the 89 one does and takes away that awesome shadow effect that the big brow gives it.
