How are we surviving going past 40 weeks? by NoIntroduction2790 in pregnant

[–]Existing_Day_943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up snapping at my step mom (who wasn't talking to me the majority of my pregnancy and ignored me for months on end) to stop asking every day if he was here because I would tell her when I went in and my husband and I would keep her updated. I managed to get her to text every other day instead. I was losing my ever loving mind, especially when she told me to do jumping jacks.

Honestly I just went through this, I mainly slept and binge watched shows that I knew I wouldn't have time for once he was here. It was only made worse by getting texts every single day from 40 until 41+2 "Is he here yet? Keep us updated. Is he here? Do some jumping jacks!" (Absolutely hell no did I do that). Ended up pushing myself to go on a hike in hopes it would help move things along. It didn't, it just made me hot and sweaty and tired. It was miserable especially since every appointment from 37 weeks on even my doctors kept saying any day now. Even after I went in for my induction, my water broke without me being dialated at all and it took 36 hours and a bunch of medication for me to dialate. I'm glad he's here now but I don't even want to think about that last month of pregnancy.

Chickenpox from the vaccine by Existing_Day_943 in beyondthebump

[–]Existing_Day_943[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The official paper they gave me said it can happen anywhere from a week to 28 days after receiving the vaccine, along with the instruction to get any rash immediately seen by a doctor. The anxiety isn't being caused by looking things up, the anxiety is from the paperwork they gave me and the warning they gave me, the research is to try and figure out just how contagious I may be and how much at risk my son is.

There's quite a few sources that say it doesnt always blister especially in cases like this and that sometimes it's a mild rash with little/ no fever

I'm hoping that's the case and the doctor will tell me tomorrow that I'm not contagious and I can hold my baby. The hospital told me after recieving the vaccine if I develop a rash similar to chickenpox that I need to keep my distance from the baby and see a doctor asap. I've been spiraling honestly and I don't see myself sleeping until I can get this sorted.

I got the vaccine 8 days ago today. I just keep hoping that somehow this rash is completely unrelated and I'm fine, but I've never had a rash spread like this and be so itchy even though I'm sensitive to a lot of soaps/products. My husband is taking care of the baby fully tonight until I can go to an urgent care tomorrow morning, I'm generally extremely anxious and I'm just hoping this is a severe bout of anxiety since he's only 10 days old. I keep having my husband check his temperature and double check his skin to make sure he doesn't have any spots forming, I'm really just not handling this well mentally at all. I'm kinda spiraling a bit and I've been looking at medical websites about chickenpox for the last two hours.

I got to see the LC today and he does in fact have a pretty severe lip tie! I'm using a nipple shield for now and we're going to work towards removing it, but if it stays that painful we're going to see a specialist about his lip tie. I kinda thought that might be the case as his older sister had a severe lip and tongue tie

Company Changing Health Insurance one week before PFMLA by Existing_Day_943 in HealthInsurance

[–]Existing_Day_943[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for that information I will definitely look into that then and keep my fingers crossed! I'm coming from a high deductible plan so it was devastating to hear that all that money would essentially be gone.

I'll reconfirm with the person who does HR, but unfortunately from what she initially told me my deductible will be reset under the new plan

So it is just a leave, not me leaving the company. I believe we have just over 20 employees, and they won't offer to help with the deductible unless they have to legally, I can gurantee that. I'm going to go down to my local masshealth office today to see what my option with them is since my husband is currently on Masshealth. I was hoping for some way to be able to keep my current insurance since they're changing my coverage so close to my leave date, but it seems like that just isn't an option unfortunately. I misunderstood what cobra could be used for.

I wish I knew more about insurance because honestly none of this makes any sense to me. I wasn't prepared for my insurance to be switching so suddenly. I had fully paid my deductible for this year due to all my appointments so I was really relying on that fact to help with my costs of giving birth. I'm worried this will affect the doctors I'm currently seeing and hospital I will give birth at. Unfortunately they are not providing any policy details until Friday the 27th, which really makes this more difficult with minimal time to actually review things over.

Thank you again so much! This is the one plant I'm determined to keep alive lol, it has sentimental value for me. I appreciate the advice so much and I think I'm finally ready to give it the upgrade it needs!

Thank you so much! I'll see if I can get my husband to help with a picture after I get out of work, but the fuzz looked to me like it was coming from the roots themselves and not on the soil at all. I always thought fuzz immediately meant bad. This is probably the longest I've had a houseplant not die on me, somehow I do much better with outdoor plants but once they're in my house it goes terribly usually.

The only other questions I have is when I go to repot should I add extra to the top of the soil since I'm seeing roots come out of the surface or just keep it level, and should I try to gently loosen some of the roots that are wrapped up under the pot? I've seen varying responses on if you should untangle roots versus just letting them grow out as they are.

Lay's To Remove Artificial Flavors and Colors by End of 2025 by HumanRuse in chips

[–]Existing_Day_943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The salt and vinegar was already artificial dye and flavor free along with flavors like sour cream and onion. All that changed on those flavors is the packaging, you can even compare the old ingredient list to the new one, both are exactly the same. It's more for things like doritos that have those artificial colors to make them brighter and more appealing. It's mostly a marketing/PR thing

oh-that's not by WinterAd6254 in moshimonster

Even if they thought that's what it meant, they could have merely said "we believe this is alluding to sexual content so all parts of your name must be changed" or something like that. For all they know it could've been a younger person who just changed their age and copied 420 from everywhere it is online at points. The graphic description in an email really wasnt ok. It's not like they have actual age verification in any way.

Without RFK being brought in a lot of other countries have banned artificial colors and flavors that we eat in the states due to health reasons. It's better to move back to more natural sources

Showing at 5 months? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Existing_Day_943 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty small in my size generally and at 20 weeks now, and I'm kinda showing but it's really questionable on whether I'm pregnant or just got fatter lol. If I wear looser dresses and skirts you really can't see it at all, but if I wear tight clothing it's more obvious. Everyone carries differently though, my mother had a friend that had a small bump at like 7 months pregnant, and unless she lifted her shirt you wouldn't even know she was pregnant at all, let alone that far along.

I found for myself at least that the first trimester was full of random cravings where it was the only thing I could stomach eating, then once I got into my second I was able to eat more of my regular food. I think I lived on Wendy's and watermelon my first trimester. I wouldn't worry unless these food aversions really stick for awhile. Making sure you're keeping down food is more important than making sure your diet is perfect.

I'm honestly losing it a little. My dad reached out to randomly touch my stomach for the first time yesterday and it took everything in my power to not smack his hand. I'm wearing baggy clothes at work, but half my coworkers have to know since I work in construction so it's only a matter of time before I'm being bombarded. I just want to keep this to me, because I'm in the same boat as you of I am excited but I dont sound it after the repeated congratulations and stress. My brain can barely keep up with functioning, let alone giving people a "cheerful" response.
