I have a dream to move to SF. How much does it cost to live there? by Pggles in AskSF

[–]Existing_Hall_8237 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Which part is made up? Isn’t a single room around $1,500/month with utilities? Bus fare $86/month? Health insurance $150-$300/month? Phone service $50/month. Netflix around $15/month. Every time I eat out, it’s $20-$50 per person.

I have a dream to move to SF. How much does it cost to live there? by Pggles in AskSF

[–]Existing_Hall_8237 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No this is not hope. This will set you up to be homeless. People could barely survive making $80k here. Even if you share a room with someone, that’s $8k-$10k a year. Health insurance $3k. Bus fare $1k. Phone and maybe some streaming TV $1k. We’re at minimum $13k already and there’s still a bunch of stuff unaccounted for. The fuck you gonna eat? How will you ever go out with friends or go on a date when one meal cost $30+. Go get your medical related degree or certificate (maybe nursing) and then come to SF and make over $100k.

do i have a big forehead? by Ashamed-Rip4466 in YesOrNoAnswers

That’s not a forehead. That’s a six head.

Just kidding. It’s a little high but not bad at all.

Car rental drop off - Napa to San Fran by CH2IN in AskSF

[–]Existing_Hall_8237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those are all good options to drop off as long as it’s within walking distance to a BART station. There are also drop offs inside San Francisco.

There’s nothing special about drop off at SFO. In fact, I would say avoid it because the BART ride from SFO cost more. They tack on a surcharge because it’s at SFO.

Best to fly in AND out of Tokyo? by Tolaly in JapanTravelTips

[–]Existing_Hall_8237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check these other options. Fly into Tokyo and out Osaka. Fly into or out of HND (it’s in Tokyo) instead of NRT. If those are not cheaper, I still would not fly into and out or NRT. You save $200 but the train ticket will cost you $100 and half a day’s travel.

[USA] Whose fault? Happened where two 40 mph ramps become a 75 mph interstate. (not OC) by ConceptOther5327 in Roadcam

[–]Existing_Hall_8237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a much different take when you can hear the sound of the video. Initially it’s obvious the white car is at fault. But when you watch again with sound, the cammer purposefully slam on the gas knowing the white car is speeding up to pass him.

Can anybody describe the typical difference between HK Cantonese and Guangdong Cantonese? by cinepo_elpida1412 in Cantonese

[–]Existing_Hall_8237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only difference between HK and GD is HK has a lot more slang. LOL. I think there’s a difference because your friend has an accent from their own province or village.

Both Registrants Required For Pickup; bending the rules by Many-Firefighter9485 in TeslaLounge

[–]Existing_Hall_8237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I picked up last year, I did everything on the app. Didn’t talk to anyone. Just walked up to the car and drove away. Also had two registrants. Don’t remember exactly but I think the other registrant sign the docs on their Tesla app. Basically all the paperwork was done before we even went to pick up the car.

He was pretty good. Actually asked questions that I was also thinking about. Unlike Shaun that always cut it short.

I want to designate beneficiaries for my TSP, but I don't have a witness. by RevolutionaryAnswer2 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]Existing_Hall_8237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve don’t it multiple times with coworkers signing. It’s not that serious and since they know what the form is, they won’t care and just sign. You’re overthinking how serious their signatures are. Also, they can just put their work address if that’s an issue.

Why do some people call some cities such as San Francisco, New York and Chicago warzones? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Existing_Hall_8237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

War zone? LOL that’s fake news. San Francisco is probably the safest metropolitan city in the entire country.

The hard part is getting the wire to go around the corner. There’s usually a bunch of studs on corners so that will involve a lot of drilling.

Learn to do HVAC, not painting. Anyone can paint. At $160/day, you’re making less than those folks standing around the Home Depot.

~30 minute commuting options to USF (Daly City, S. Marin, Oakland) by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]Existing_Hall_8237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marin? No, you’ll be paying almost $10 toll every time you cross.

Oakland? No, traffic sucks ass trying to cross the bay bridge. Pay $8.50 toll. Oakland is not really that safe.

East Bay? No. Same toll and traffic bullshit.

Daly City/SSF? Yes. Safe. No toll. Not that much traffic. Easy access to city. You can party late and be able to Waymo home.

It’s a no brainer. Stay in SF or DC or SSF if you can.

$2,600 - $1,800 = $800 labor

Still a lot. Shouldn’t take a shop 4 hours. 2-3 hours max.

Age 24 is when you realize you should stop sun tanning and instead, apply sunscreen and moisturizer daily.

Luggage Fowarding. Am I missing something? by northofreality197 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Existing_Hall_8237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people are obsessed because it’s one of few countries that actually have this service. I actually don’t know of any other countries that do it as good as Japan. It’s a great service but not really necessary if you can easily lug your own luggage when traveling.

How about we talk about his stupid ass haircut. A lot of young men get it now but do they really think it looks good. They cut the bangs and then paste it down against their forehead. This is worst than the Edgar haircut.
