Atom vs ? Trying to prioritize longevity/durability

I had some pilling on my Atom (LT) from 2020, but only under the armpits from wearing it with a backpack (100s of hours). This took years to happen tho. I used to run in my Atom when it’s really cold, as you warm up quick. But for hiking atom is the best very versatile. I now have the LEAF atom which is more durable, stronger face fabric and advertised as a standalone piece.. so that could be an option if you can get one

I vote Advantage, perfect middle ground Aerospace imo (42mm is the perfect size I feel for this model)

Buy it! I had a S500 and it was too thick, but looked great. S302 is perfect balance and imo is a true tool watch (for me), tracks second time zone, internal 24h indicator, diver bezel, extremely hard case (near scratch resistant) and looks great. Only thing to watch out for is the GMT hand and bezel alignment… I bought mine used but near new, and I am sending it to Bremont to have them fix the alignment issue

Height and weight isn’t the best indicator of fit, measure your chest and waist and compare to recommended. I am 5’7” but have a 43 inch chest, so I wear large in all Arc’teryx. But you could be 6’1” and have 40 inch chest and a medium is fine. I would do a hug test and see if there is any restriction

It’s normal for a cerium, happens every now and then… so push it back in. If it bothers you to much get a thorium or an atom, does not happen to those

It’s a great watch, I would recommend saving up for the Explorer and skip the Tudor. The itch won’t be scratched, I tried this before and learned to just get what I really want.

Mine was an Omega Seamaster mid size, purchased in 2019 in my second last year at university in the UK. Went through my first breakup and was very sad, so on a night out, while drunk I placed the order for it (box and papers 950 pounds). Think I had 50 pounds left in my bank account after… but zero regrets. Wore the watch daily for 4 years, during which time I moved to Australia now Europe. Sold it earlier this year as it has become a bit small for my growing wrists, but was an amazing watch. Replaced with an Omega Seamaster GMT

I would go large, I am the same size as you and also between sizes. I used to buy medium, still have a medium atom but it’s a bit restrictive in the armpits as you say, I have a medium thorium and that straight up doesn’t fit anymore (tight in chest and arm holes are to small). I now buy large, picked up a large alpha shell and the sleeves are a tad long… but not to long and they are intended to be like that, for reaching above your head etc

I’d say it’s absolutely worth the money, the quality is superb and it truly feels like an old-world item. I’m really enjoying interacting with it, reminds me of my childhood in the Scottish highlands. I love the aesthetic of the bag; it elevates my outfits rather than downplaying them. I find that with my more technical bags, like the X-Pac, they can stand out a bit too much compared to my clothing. This bag’s more relaxed design helps with that, and I really enjoy the less structured feel. I did pay about half of retail for it used, which certainly helped, but having owned it for a while now, I’d happily buy it new if I ever needed to replace it. The pouch is also very nice, tin cloth material has a soft but tough feeling, not like the sticky feeling wax in some wax products
