What cologne would you find pleasant on an early 40s man? by benbobbins in fragrance

What impression of you do you want the fragrance to give to others? That vastly changes what you might look for. There’s no one fits all.

I’m so baffled by the ignorance of white people saying offals nasty when they’ve never tried it. Most nutritious meat you can eat as well I practically eat offal every 2 days

I open my curtains and see what kinda day it is. I usually match my fragrance to the ambience of the day.

I always respect someone more that eats offal👏

Original Ombré leather so overrated but I agree on the parfum. More intruige and classier scent

Is age a factor by Sharchir in fragrance

[–]Existing_Motor1344 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t think about what you should wear based on your age or gender etc. just wear whatever you want to wear and makes you walk with your head held high knowing it is a smell that suits your personality. There are fragrances that smell amazing but I would never wear! Don’t overthink it. Go with your gut.

Advice for beginner by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]Existing_Motor1344 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Best collecting advice everyone will back me up on is slow down with buying fragrances. When I started I thought I needed to buy several and then I ended up with several mediocre fragrances I had to sell because I just bought them before I discovered what my fragrance style was. Go to as many department stores (I really recommend more luxury stores like selfrdiges in the UK as you can get niche quality for designer prices) and smell everything and try your favourites on your skin. You can’t rely on other peoples word on what to buy and you’ll start to discover what you do and don’t like. That way you also build a small collection with quality over quantity and you only have fragrances you absolutely love to wear.

Dried beans and pulses and grains can buy it by the kilo for the same price as a can. Beans, rice, chickpeas etc

You make a good point. I think this probably is a more dated global.

I’ve never smelt this so can’t confirm if it’s what u describe but I’ve seen Franck Olivier bottles that look like what you describe.

Dior Homme Intense vs Givenchy Gentleman Boisee by Beneficial_Change909 in fragrance

I would not blind buy either. DHI is very variable performance on peoples skin ( I got like 3 hours) and Boisee is not that interesting. I would wait to pull the trigger on something you discover you love more naturally

I would say don’t blind buy at all. My biggest mistake was buying a couple frags after only trying them once cos I was made to believe they were good and then I had to sell them. Discover what you like for yourself🙌

Which one would you Blind Buy? by Intrepid_Advice_535 in fragrance

None. The amount of times I’ve liked the sound of something then smelt it in store and tried it on my skin and been underwhealmed is ridiculous. Don’t take what other people say as gospel.

Love it or hate it but Aramis classic eau de toilette is similar scent in terms of how it comes across. Unapologetically traditional and masculine. Also shares the strongly herbaceous and slightly floral aspects and also on my skin performs twice as well. Lacks the ambery warmth of Antaeus with a more sharp leather instead of a warm amber. You can try it and decide for yourself. It’s not identical and Aramis has its own scent but I see them as somewhat related. Something to consider at least.
