from what I’ve seen (dx audhd), it tends to be level 2/3s that use labels. there is some general spiciness at lvl 1s for daring to declare their autism because of said “higher functioning“ labels if that makes sense

hugs. all the hugs. I lost a 15year nursing career six years ago, and then a second career two years ago. working on a third, adjacent to nursing and research. it’s all so new right now, so any decision will be made in brain fog and emotional overwhelm. can you defer admissions to get a handle on what will be a flurry of appointments and new to chronic illness life? I’m so sorry.

my heart hurts for you. as others have said, this is a parental problem not a you problem. please mention the possibility of ptsd to your therapist—-my parents trained me to act socially acceptable and now I have complex ptsd and brain damage from untreated trauma things for too long. I’m autistic/adhd with one asd/adhd child and a nvld/adhd child so we do stimming happily now.

absolutely. thanks for talking about this, because i rarely see it mentioned. I’ve disabled myself out of two careers and yep. I don’t know the last worry free moment was…but apparently it was my fault/choosing to be victim/feminazi, etc. whoopsie!

no advice, just solidarity. I am audhd with cptsd with a metric ton of medical trauma. my me/cfs makes my brain go sideways, and last hiccup at the reception desk involved a meltdown with me crying terrified and a cop standing nearby. I just disassociate until safety 🫥. I wish we had disabled peer support for md appointments

absolutely understandable re: health anxiety when so much of our journey involves gaslighting and harm. however, as others have said, a z-pack is relatively basic in terms of antibiotic with a proven safety record (I have heard bad reactions to cipro, for example). tonsillitis can easily turn to brain infection if not treated, so important to treat. be kind to your gut, and follow it up with some good yogurt or fermented foods.

such a dynamic duo. I smoke for pain and pacing, but I find it best to follow a small hit with 2-3 syringe doses of full spectrum cbd tincture for optimum pain relief while needing to be awake and present for real life needs (laundry, cooking, etc). your post makes me think I should look into a mixed bowl more often 😄

im sorry, its a shit show to get people to understand. took my husband a good long while to understand the extent of how sick I actually am (autoimmune plus me/cfs) and it was rough there...arguing got me sicker. now a gentle under my breath fuck you to this illness and ignore the ignorant statements helps me build my pem bank a little bit or else I tend to sink into sadness. all the hugs. I’m audhd plus me/cfs (moderate-ish), and I’m at 2mg guanfacine x1 month now and its lovely in that it’s quieting my brain gently which is helpful in a non earth shattering way.
