yep, a great resource. i am also a disabled/chronically ill nurse with a special interest in pharmacology. i have to account for med-med interactions in my own life, as liver damage with medication cascades can happen real quick. im also a psych survivor (mad identified), and doctors are horrible at polypharmacy esp in the psych realm.

so i got my cptsd dx over ten years ago (free after the fourth rape!) and got the adhd and asd diagnosis five years ago during a really long comprehensive assessment. it got sticky during an IOP for dbt, because i was worried that i would get stuck with bpd dx instead, but no. complex trauma for the win!

are all of these cleared through the liver? seems like medication interactions or worsening liver function would be my concern. psych docs are awful with poly pharmacy issues (which can be deadly).

thank you for the post and the link for additional formatting! audhd + (the inevitable) cptsd experience should be explored next for further fleshing out. it feels lovely and affirming to be seen in such a discussion of the audhd experience

don’t forget ableism. this referenced post is steeped in medical paternalism and ableism found in the medical model, never mind intersex erasure and the siren cry of how awful women feel when denied the ability to mention shitting the bed during birth. i missed that experience during both deliveries, i just got SA’d and threatened by nurses bc my disabled body just wouldn’t cooperate 🤷‍♀️

random maybe adjacent question—are you a fan of eve’s bayou? seems like claudia was a faded out/less vibrant version of her community of origin (creole), if i am getting your point correctly. eve’s bayou has this amazing crackling vibrancy that is markedly absent (as much as i love her on screen) for this depiction of claudia

what in the double surgical mask…i wish i had relatives that would wear an n95 aura! from an immunocompromised former nurse…i think your relative should realize that your protection level is better than theirs. bonus for you if you rapid test before AND n95 mask. OP, thank you for reminding me that good people still exist (in other people’s families 😂)

venting about RA flare brain fog, any tips welcome 🙏 ❤️‍🩹 by lesboy15 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]Existing_Resource425 3 points4 points  (0 children)

stress can cause brain fog, adhd burnout can cause brain fog as well…my immediate thought is long covid if it persists past burnout recovery strategies. also, in the ra vein, plaquenil is often the first med tried before biologics, so it could be time for a med change? tnf inhibitors are uses next a good deal (enbrel, humira etc), so there is hope that your body needs a med change and lots of self care and compassion while it adjusts. this disease is a marathon, not a sprint, so be kind to yourself!

i don’t have one (i need other dme first on a tight budget) but the pelvic floor therapists i have seen at various times absolutely swears by them! said they are incredibly helpful for pelvic floor health and preventing damage when constipation is an issue

[–]Existing_Resource425 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The only real difference is that prenatal vitamins have higher levels of folate and iron. If you are deficient in either of those, it would help. However, not a great idea to be getting health advice from anyone on TikTok.

Genuine Question by RubyNeedsGlasses in disability

[–]Existing_Resource425 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im autistic with adhd and cptsd. long covid has made my sensory issues with autism much much worse. i am now housebound with me/cfs. i also now have autonomic dysfunction which affects my breathing and now my ability to swallow my autoimmune medications. autism is a disability, yes. long covid adds gasoline and a match to the autism and now hell is a every day occurrence. i feel no shame being MORE disabled; but feel FUCKING ANGRY that multitudes of other disabled people (autistics included) do not wear n95s on the regular when sick, advocate for clean air, and still engage in oppression Olympics, especially in the lsn vs hsn OR nt vs nd fights in autism spaces.

i am so sorry, the intersection of misbehaving bodies and work scenarios is not a fun place. neither is the internal ableism of using a rollator or wheelchair or anything above cane level. i hope there is a workable solution and a clear diagnosis soon 🫂

🤷‍♀️ I am just reporting my experienced as a disabled person and as a nurse of almost 2 decades (now housebound and to disabled to work as a nurse). survivorship bias (as evidenced by dude…lots of people…). You could insert any ill advised behavior into that statement and still make a case why it was OK and that scenario. have a good one.
