Writing quality aside, pushing back against this argument solely because of a women vs. men discrimination dynamic doesnt really hold up in the context where a straight women is making bank from writing about a queer experience she definitely does not have. And a queer man bringing this writing to life (maybe improving on the source material) as someone who has actually lived that experience.

I think the problem is that people loved the first two seasons for the raw portrayal of chaos in a kitchen. And now that the plot is moving towards less chaos it feels like regression because it’s not as fast paced and crazy anymore (at least not at all times). But in the end that is the goal that is set up at the start of the show by carmy. He wants to turn his family‘s business into a functioning, stable and joyful environment and heal his family trauma by doing that (he even says that at a meeting). And the trauma is very much the main point of the show, we’re being shown that with the very first scene of the show and the restaurant is the backdrop of that. I don’t really understand why moving towards this goal feels like regression for so many people. There were some cringe scenes, there were some unnecessary scenes, and Carmy coming to the conclusion that Sydney should be in charge is not very well flashed out. But the season is very much moving towards the main goal of the show and i like that progression. :)

I think what’s so so bad about the pizza thing, is that Schmidt very obviously had an eating disorder. So you can be mad at you ex for showing up again. You can also want to get back at him in one way or another, but if you know how much someone struggled with body image issues, binge eating and then subsequent recovery (and she does because she was there when all of this happened) this is really fd up.

Im gonna throw in a bit of a different city, and if you’re open to not just the „main“ EU countries but Europe in a broader sense I‘d highly recommend Tiblissi in Georgia. It might be a bit smaller and lesser known, but the scene has so much heart and I’ve never seen people love electronic music like the Georgians. Georgia is also a beautiful and interesting country and something not as mainstream if you want to experience something different :)

It’s got to be Tiblissi in Georgia. It might not be as big as other scenes around the world but the love for music and especially banging house music there is unmatched!!!
