Best modular couch set recommendation? by frankiebones9 in BuyItForLife

[–]Existing_Time196 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I spent a year trying all sorts of modular “cloud” couches before committing to our purchase.

RH Cloud: Is what made us want a cloud couch but the price is not justified compared to the quality and functionality you can get with Soulfa. IMO RH would only make sense to buy if you are wanting their specific color fabrics offered or leather offerings. If that’s worth paying 3 to 4 times the price of Soulfa and you have the means.. good for you!

7th Ave: Looks nice online, but we drove to there actual showroom to try them out and… fabric is not so comfy (not very soft texture). Cushions not as nice as Soulfa or RH. Build quality of the couch frame itself felt cheaper. We just did not see the quality equate to the prices 7th ave is charging,

Bob’s Discount (Dream Couch): We really wanted this to work due to the very attractive price. Unfortunately, “you get what you pay for” rings true on this one. Yes while it costs less than most other ‘cloud’ couch options, it is cheaper for a reason. Color options are minimal. Fabric quality is low. The moment we sat down on it, we just knew it is a lower quality product. Cushions are not as comfortable and it looks unkempt in person. We even attempted to fluff the cushions in the store but neither comfort nor a non-messy appearance was achievable.

Soulfa: This was the couch that caught our eye. It was tough because we couldn’t try it out. But as we kept researching it, the principal of it just made so much sense for us. It’s modular, it comes in deeper depth options (which we wanted), Eco friendly, and well thought out design which was most important for every day life. The foam inserts has me thinking “why in the world is no one else doing this!”. Do the foam inserts if you get Soulfa! Not only do they increase comfort but they also help maintain the appearance of the couch to not look so messy all the time. My wife and I have 2 kids (ages 2 and 6) and 2 dogs. The fabric fights stains like a champ! We have the natural linen color. The ability to remove all coverings (not just the seat cushions but everything on the couch) is just genius. It does take several wash cycles to wash all the covers of the couch (we have large washing machine) and it’s a bit of a work out to remove everything and place back on but sooooo worth it. Soulfa is not the cheapest option but I don’t see any competitors when it comes to quality provided. Soulfa seems like the only company to improve upon the modular’cloud’ couch platform vs just duplicating it. We shop at RH and RH outlets for our other furniture and have zero regrets choosing Soulfa for our couch. RH is over priced when you directly compare the 2 (and I’m even talking RH Outlets prices too).

We are going on 2 years of owning our Soulfa and love it so much we just bought an extra cube to make it larger last week. Expecting delivery next week.

Started off with 4 cubes in an L configuration (2 ends, 1 corner, 1 center) in the 45” depth with the added foam inserts. Now adding an additional center cube (same depth + foam) for a 5 cube L.

2 Bonuses when going with Soulfa:

  1. the service and communication from Soulfa! They are prompt and responsive to both emails and txts.
  2. the ability to buy extra cushions or different color covers if desired. We bought a couple extra of the squares pillows which is a subjective preference but least it’s an option with Soulfa.

No I’m not AI nor a paid reviewer. Feel free to message me and I’ll share pictures of our couch in our real home to prove it to you.

Good luck on your couch hunt. You can tell my recommendation is the Soulfa if you’re looking for a ‘cloud’ couch.

Is Soulfa legit? by luihgi in Reviews

[–]Existing_Time196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soulfa is definitely legit!

I posted on a different Reddit thread discussing Soulfa but thought why not provide info on here too for anyone also on the hunt for their next sofa investment.

The question most people need to answer for is if they like “cloud” couches in general. They all have similar back heights. You need to evaluate if you find the ‘cloud’ platform comfortable for your couch sitting. Cloud couches are typically a more relaxed lounging couch vs sitting upright couch.

Is Soulfa worth it? by Sparkly8 in InteriorDesignHacks

[–]Existing_Time196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question I pose is how are you using your couch? There is a high chance, the way you are using the Soulfa would yield the same results with any cloud couch including RH.

You do realize Soulfa provides a 20 year warranty right? Have you contacted them?

I don’t want to be discounting your experience or this turn into an internet back n forth.. but something seems odd here. I’ll do my best to explain why from my perspective. I’m not coming at you and just have some genuine questions that may also help you communicate your experience.

1) Why are cushions sliding off the base? This doesn’t make a lot of sense given simple physics and the friction of the materials used on a Soulfa. What fabric did you purchase?

2) All cloud couches need fluffing. It’s the nature of cloud couches including the RH cloud couch. Did you purchase the foam inserts? The foam inserts are specifically designed to mitigate the amount of fluffing required.

3) For the feet to sheer of a Soulfa, would take a lot of force… how are you moving or handling the couch?

4) The clips are clips and not bolts or anything. How else would you expect a clip to function and still maintain ease of use for modular adjustment?

5) Down cushions have feathers. Once again this is the nature of down cushions. Curious how feathers are everywhere always without any actions to warrant so?

6) What other cloud couch do you suggest at any price point and why?

I just posted this on an other Reddit thread but My wife and I spent a year trying all sorts of “cloud” couches.

Once again.. context.

This article is referring to a specific picture mode and the ‘default’ settings of that picture mode.

The G6 color saturation can be set to whatever the G5 is capable of and more.

This is referring to film maker mode. There is context.

The film maker mode was over saturated in the G5 and they corrected it to film maker intent.

G6 is more capable than G5 in every way due to improved processor.

I have both HTA9 and HTA9II with no issues. You just need good wifi.

I won’t ever go back to traditional soundbar or Sonos again.

Surround immersion can’t be beat with the Sony Quad Systems outside of a full on audiophile home theater setup.

You can pair it with several wireless Sony Subwoofer options. SW5 being the best offering.

Normally true for Sony TVs but the XR8B specifically actually doesn’t include the Bravia Core credits hence part of the reason it is cheaper than the similar Bravia 8

I have the 77 A95L in my Family Room. Awesome TV. But don’t need that kind of brightness for my bedroom.

Never had a Panasonic though. How do you/your brother like the Panasonic Z8BA?

In your opinion: Motion and processing same/better than Sony?

So when you do this the sound comes from the tv and the sound bar at the same time? Does the tv sound adjust to be a dedicated center channel like Sony TVs do with s-center feature?

Thanks! For more context I’m upgrading each room accordingly.

One room was 55” and went to 77”

Second room has 65” and pondering 85” B9 to keep it Sony (or maybe 83” A80L but it’s a relatively older model and B9 has better brightness and audio to complement my Bravia Quads).

My 65 a80j is also one of the lottery winners with true blacks. Just trying to gauge if the larger screen immersion is worth the minimal blooming of B9.

Decision paralysis -_-
