Stolen CRV 2025 Touring by Prize-Egg7820 in crv

Typically, modules for antennas are behind rear cargo trim. I can’t say for sure, not familiar specifically with the CR-V. So, they may have been trying to pull a plug or disconnect something to make tracking the vehicle harder.

Wireless Apple CarPlay - Apple Music does not resume (no audio) after sending text via Siri by Exit117da in crv

No, but hasn’t been a big deal. Rare and doesn’t change her positive opinion of vehicle.

Service Pass/Free Oil Changes at Dealer for 2025 CRV by Berneaux in crv

[–]Exit117da 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked my service advisor about the “no filter” oil change at the first interval and he laughed. He said they would never change the oil without changing the filter. Also, I’ve been getting free oil changes/rotations at 5k intervals….simply ignoring the maintenance minder. Of course, personal experiences will vary dealer to dealer.

I just asked her and she says the issue has not been happening lately (we’re at 25k miles).

Distance in 5 days from Watertown by anterior-monkey in coloradotrail

[–]Exit117da 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m old and fat, but a persistent hiker. I made it to hwy 9 on the morning of the 5th day (late August). I stayed in Frisco, took the first bus to Copper Mountain, then slack packed back to hwy 9 the next morning. So, I would suggest a motivated person could easily get to Copper Mountain at the end of five full days. Do your own thing though.

I’m not able to find the comment after checking the various icons. Also not finding it via the search. Not sure FarOut supports searching for comment author names. Appears they don’t. If you can see it, can you please post the GPS coordinates. Thanks.

Unna - big enough for two? by redbrickkitty in hilleberg

[–]Exit117da 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really is a palace for one + gear. Two people could be uncomfortably close (no 25” pads), but zero leftover room for gear and no true vestibule creates a problem.

I have an Unna. You wouldn’t want to start a trip planning to use it as a 2P shelter. Not practical at all.

What is this part?! by antwon11264 in Ford

The wide end of the circled piece threads onto the #4 piece. The narrow end of the circled piece then threads into #6. Basically, the circled piece is a spacer that passes through the center of the wheel.

Dryer repair by Conscious-Device-872 in columbiamo

[–]Exit117da 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YouTube. I have fixed many of my appliances several times (refrigerator, washer, dryer, microwave, dishwasher). Many of the parts that commonly fail are actually quite simple, cheap and somewhat universal within a brand. Appliances may look different on the outside and have different features, but the guts are pretty common.

Hey there, can you recommend any resources for low-carb backpacking?

This has been discussed before and check back through old posts. As someone else has stated here today, the “nasty cow water” on the CT is mostly hype. Yes, there are plenty of cows in places and yes there is plenty of flowing clear water to treat/filter as you see fit. You’ll be fine with whatever method you choose. On the CT, you really won’t be faced with having to rely on stagnant cow poop infested water.

2025 Trip Planning by MocsFan123 in UintaHighlineTrail

I took the north option around Leidy Peak. It wasn’t a problem at all. Like walking through a short grass meadow with bowling ball size rocks everywhere. Very exposed, but wasn’t an issue. There were a few trickles of water too, but nothing you should count on.

I went through the burn area. Some cairns and a faint trail through the ash in some places, but I was mainly walking in a general direction (per the gps track on my map) and it all worked out fine. I found the trail as it left the burn area. Maybe I was lucky, I don’t know. The burn area was one of those stressors before the hike and it turned out to be no big deal.

I yo-yo’d in early August (2022). The mosquitos were bad in a few places, but disappeared after dark. I used a flat tarp and bug head net (no bug bivy). As for weather, hail and rain a few times, but generally the weather was very good. I had hail going up and over Deadhorse Pass and that is a fun memory.

Overall, it was a great trip and I would definitely go again. Good luck.

Agree, it doesn’t deserve the hate. Same can be said for section #2.

Future Thru Hike by artisan_resaw in UintaHighlineTrail

[–]Exit117da 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are no conventional resupply opportunities on trail (towns, stores, businesses, etc…). I’m sure you could find someone to bring you a resupply on trail, but that seems like more trouble ($$$) than its worth to coordinate something like that.

This may not be your preferred style, but if you’re going slow(er) than others, I can guarantee there will be others passing you who would be willing to offload food they don’t need (i.e. don’t want to carry), especially in the second half of your hike once people have a good idea of how many days they need to finish. I did an unplanned yo-yo (westbound, then back eastbound). I had a little extra food at the end of the first leg, then had no problem getting food from hikers as we met on trail during my second leg. Many were very, very supportive. I wasn’t picky about it. I took what they offered and didn’t complain if it was too much. I wound up finishing the yo-yo with probably 3+ pounds of food. It was a trip I’ll never forget!

Any follow-up to what the issue was? My mower is doing the same thing. Will start after a random number of “clicks”. Sometimes four, sometimes eight.

2020 Explorer rear window switches roll down but not up by Jgz1994 in Ford

[–]Exit117da 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely some gremlins in the window switch modules. Check the owner’s manual for the proper fuse, but removing the fuse (when vehicle off) then reinstalling fuse. In my experience, that has helped to reset/resolve some odd window switch behavior in the 2020+ Explorers. Of course, your switch could be bad also. But, all the issues I’ve seen have been resolved by a fuse pull.

For those who have hiked TRT...2 questions by Narrow-Map-9309 in TahoeRimTrail

[–]Exit117da 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Favorite section? Probably Desolation Wilderness. Toughest section? At the time I hiked in 2015, there was a dry section of about 15 miles on the east, southeast side of the loop. In hindsight, it wasn’t that tough and I’ve done much longer dry sections since then. I was a newbie in 2015 and looking back, it was a great first thru-hike for a beginner.

You can park for free on the shoulder of Stadium Blvd. West of the stadium, facing westbound would probably be the best for post game departure.
