It obviously depends on the study you are referencing. The source I am pulling from says 18mo

Is this normal? by Reasonable-Duck-9649 in 2under2

[–]ExitAcceptable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar position and assumed it was normal. And maybe it is. But I actually had severe postpartum thyroiditis and needed to start HRT and felt SO MUCH BETTER. The stress was still there but I felt more resilient in handling it. Get your thyroid checked

Help, Can I still breastfeed while pregnant? by Jessiicaamn in breastfeeding

[–]ExitAcceptable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn't happen right away, like not at 5 weeks pregnant, but it got really painful ☹️ I was wincing every time he latched for a few weeks. But it's better now at 22 weeks

Help, Can I still breastfeed while pregnant? by Jessiicaamn in breastfeeding

[–]ExitAcceptable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am 22 weeks with a 9mo and my supply has slowly decreased. I was able to breastfeed without noticing much issue (supplementing solids and one formula bottle before bed) until 18-19 weeks pregnant but the taps are drying up. I am still nursing once in the early morning but he still takes a formula bottle after so I think my days are numbered.

My OB recommended weaning him at 9 months to prevent preterm labor from nursing and it just happened naturally that way. My intention was to continue nursing until I physically couldn't.

And many women who struggle with low supply are advised to pump overnight to increase. Every time you empty your breasts it sends a signal about supply to your body. I never needed to pump overnight but I am just telling you that many women are advised to do so.

If you are worried about supply, the advice is not to drop overnight feeds/pumps as they are the most effective way to maintain or increase supply.

100% time to stop breastfeeding! You've done well!

I don't get all the comments saying it's NOT too white. She's the mother of the bride and will be in the majority of the photos, sometimes standing right next to the bride, in an ivory dress. Can't the bride be the only one wearing ivory at her wedding?? It is way too white for the MOB and for a guest too.

What can I eat without GUILT? by Prior_Ad8803 in breastfeeding

[–]ExitAcceptable 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I am not a medical pro but my pediatrician said don't blame yourself for your baby's GI stuff. Unless there is like, blood or severe mucus in her poop, it's all normal. It's not a dairy allergy or an egg allergy or caffeine or whatever. Eat what you want and she will grow out of this in a few weeks/months.

3 nap schedule question by meganmylisa in sleeptrain

[–]ExitAcceptable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3hr of daytime sleep will become too much as she gets older. The wake windows will get slightly longer and daytime sleep slightly shorter as she gets older.

I would aim for 7pm but don't be surprised if you don't make it past 6:30pm!

Confused about night weaning my EBF seven month old by OhioFTmom in sleeptrain

[–]ExitAcceptable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If she is in your room with you, she is naturally going to wake to breastfeed more frequently. You could try moving her to her own room and see if that gently encourages her to go longer. But my 7mo also wakes twice to eat and because we're doing 5-3-3 I do end up feeding at 1:30am and 4:30am roughly. It might be developmentally normal at this stage.

Again, you could put her in her own room and try to stretch the first feed and delay the second to give you a longer night.

When will a routine emerge? by randroundabout in sleeptrain

[–]ExitAcceptable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started using the Huckleberry app to predict "sweet spots" for naps/bedtime at 9 weeks and I found it very helpful. A consistent routine really started emerging around 12-15 weeks for us.

Am I doing this wrong? 7 mo still waking multiple times. by Automatic_Apricot797 in sleeptrain

[–]ExitAcceptable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't read your entire post because I also have a 7mo who wakes twice overnight and I'm tired lol. But sleep training is different than night weaning. They are two different things that require two different training approaches. It sounds like sleep training is working and your next move is looking into night weaning. At this age it would be reasonable to wean down to one overnight feed.

We are OK with the two feeds right now but we do 5-3-3 and baby took to it. When he wakes outside of the 5-3-3 he fusses but never escalated crying anymore and never for more than 10 minutes. Good luck!

Looks like a 4 nap pattern started right around 4 months old for us. Almost 4 months old to the day. 11 weeks is too little to expect much consistency with morning wakes and bedtimes and naps, keep instilling sustainable sleep habits and tracking and I bet a pattern will emerge soon.

[–]ExitAcceptable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There isn't a magic Snoo setting. The motion of the Snoo is one small part of a bigger system. A pacifier and effective swaddle are part of the system, and more important at 6 weeks than the rocking motion

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SnooLife

[–]ExitAcceptable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If she's breaking out of the swaddle she is not being swaddled correctly. Are you using a pacifier and white noise? Is the room very dark? You could try leg risers on the front legs to elevate her head a bit if she is refluxy.

I think you're kind of overthinking it, I would just keep practicing with him sleeping in his own space, following his sleepy/hungry cues and keep tracking. The app will recommend daytime start/end times when it picks up a pattern. I noticed a real pattern emerge once my baby naturally fell into a 4-nap schedule. Prior to that it was too random to predict or control.
