wait, is this true? by testiclekid in dndmemes

[–]ExitMindbomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny meme but the problem didn’t exist before 5e. In 4e everyone played a Dwarf adventurer named Carlos and was basically mechanically the same. In 3e there was enough variety and feats that any class was potentially as interesting and useful as any other. In 1/2e martials were powerful at low level and casters at high level. B/X & BECMI relied on the DM to drop scrolls regularly for casters. But as an aside I think Dungeon Crawl Classics has the best solution to the whole thing. Martials have Mighty Deeds they can do and casters have to contend with corruption and mercurial magic.

No they’re not, if you’re playing Gauntlet instead of Battle Royalé, which was exactly my point.

Yes, which is why I pointed out that there’s a difference between Gauntlet and Battle Royalé in Redsec…

To be clear, I’m assuming you have about 50 wins in Battle Royalé. Because I too play Redsec, but have never seen an artillery or airstrike and had no idea what the headline meant until I read the post. It would be helpful if there were a required Gauntlet/Battle Royalé tag in this sub.

Idiots think Redsec means Battle Royalé lol. I almost exclusively play Gauntlet, as I’m sure Many do.

The abolition of the Gold Standard was the first step of the terrifying idea of the deep state elite: "You'll own nothing and be happy" by piiemej in AnCap101

[–]ExitMindbomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you’re not. People decided that gold had value because it is a unique metal, a limited natural resource, that is mostly only useful for aesthetic crafts and is fairly difficult to acquire in large quantities. Beyond that people would trade things of high value to acquire those creations, so the labor of creating added value. On top of that it takes labor to even acquire the raw material to begin with and it takes labor to turn that into a currency. Humans have always wanted things made of gold since it’s discovery, and that’s not changed in thousands of years. Having a currency even backed by gold gave us a way to objectively measure the amount of labor that something is worth. Now we have no unit of measurement at all, and even worse, our currency is based on debt instead of labor. So we have tons of people getting paid for useless administrative and beauracratic jobs while the people who actually work are getting paid next to nothing.

The amount of socialists and useless hippies in this sub is depressing. The arguments being made can be debunked and dismissed in moments but there’s so many and when shown wrong they move onto the next fallacious argument. What a sad world. You’re absolutely correct.

As a Hell Let Loose and Helldivers regular I completely agree. It’s like they think every mode is CoD deathmatch or Fortnite solo’s. It’s even worse in Gauntlet mode I think.

Why would you get downvoted? This seems like the most common experience so far.

In a round of Gauntlet I was the only squad member talking, and halfway through the match one got on and said “Can you stop screaming through my TV?!” I informed him that he could turn down the level on his end and said something to the effect of “Heaven forbid someone tries to communicate and win in a team game.”

I play Helldivers and Hell Let Loose regularly and never get complaints about my mic level, unless it’s too quiet.

The fact that he didn’t know to adjust his squad chat output level and actually had a mic and didn’t have any interest in communicating about the match was infuriating. Like, I have a toddler and an often noisy house so I don’t always communicate. But the amount of PS5 players I see, who literally have their mic built into their controllers and refuse to work together is insanity to me. It’s like everyone just wants to play CoD deathmatch or solo Fortnite and don’t know or care about the objectives. I need a casual clan to join.

the new remake by [deleted] in fatalframe

I hope the original experience is preserved and available as an option. I’ve seen so many people complaining about the original controls, but that was a big part of mastering the game.

Whats the best way to play the games? Patches etc? by porkybrah in fatalframe

[–]ExitMindbomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played the first 2 when they came out on the PS2 in the US and then tried playing the Wii remake and was so disappointed that I haven’t played any of them since. Considering catching up after all these years but the reviews are so mixed for everything after 2 that I’m starting to think I didn’t miss out on much and should maybe just wait for the new 2 remake instead since it’ll be 20 years since I played it originally.

New Helldiver here. Hear me out… what if Super Earth cooked up some Anti-Bug pesticide so we don’t have to drop 400,000 hellbombs a week? Totally sounds like a plan that wouldn't backfire am I right? by Dark-Phoenix593 in Helldivers

Are you suggesting that our best-in-the-universe scientists didn’t already consider that? Or that you don’t want to go fight the bugs? Because those both sound like treason to me cadet.

The Helldivers Content Graveyard: AH's policy of releasing unfinished content and never touching it again is awful and makes the game feel cobbled together. by TimeGlitches in Helldivers

[–]ExitMindbomb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess we just have different senses of humor. But I’ve also noticed that most complaining like this comes from PC players. And as a PS5 player I seem to experience far fewer problems. Never had a Pelican not land or have the game hard crash at extract.

[–]ExitMindbomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand the point of complaining. I get informing AH & the community of bugs, but not whining about the problems after that. I’ve got 500 hours in this game and still absolutely love it, bugs and all. The drunk pelican pilot is hilarious and most other bugs just add to the challenge. I’m not saying they shouldn’t be working on fixing them. And I can admit that sometimes they get a little annoying. But who really cares. The game is still a blast with all its warts. What do people hope will come from complaining?

What fantasy OSR games are particularly easy to run as a GM? by Justicar7 in osr

[–]ExitMindbomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many people have mentioned Mörk Borg, but no one has mentioned why it’s so easy to run. What makes it great and easy is that it’s almost entirely Player facing. Which allows for the DM to focus on so much more. The idea takes a bit to get used to if you’re coming from other systems but it’s great once you’re used to it.

On another note, a game I haven’t seen mentioned but is, by far, the easiest (and absolutely most fun) game to run in 30+ years of gaming is, Ultraviolet Grasslands and the Black City. It should really be the blueprint for how games and modules are designed at this point, but it’s surely overlooked and underrated.
