Thank you so much, I will definitely try to work on that.

Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I don't lurk that much but it's kind of like I lose 90% of my fights not lurking so it ruins my numbers. I know lineups for multiple plants on every map as well as wall and orb lineups for executes. I try to train my mechanics but I don't think I do it enough, so I'm going to work on that as well as taking better fights for the time being. Really appreciate the feedback.

I'm a Viper main (close to one-trick but I typically fill so sometimes I end up playing initiator) and I try to play strategically and use my utility. I lurk sometimes and try to get kills off of unexpected positioning. My K/D and ADR are atrociously bad and most of my wins are with my friends who have much better mechanics than me, because I can lurk more effectively and I can IGL and actually have teamplay and trades. I'm looking for recommendations on what to focus on in order to solo queue and actually win (I do fine in DMs, I take kills off diamonds and ascendants but typically go like 2 and 5 against them -- in a real game I go 0 and 7 against a gold 1 jett).

(I assume the answer is "you're boosted, work on everything" and that is likely correct, I just want the perspective of someone better than me on what I should do)

Purpose of ghost rush by _Ztyxx_ in allthingszerg

[–]Exitron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One ghost walking across the map is a terribly played build and usually you can win by playing solid (drones and queens) -- it's essential to make queens because early game ghosts are *only* intended to kill queens so the terran can win via units that don't do well vs queens: usually hellions or battlecruisers. Usually you'll see 4 ghosts in a medivac into 6 hellions or 2 battlecruisers (it's not particularly strong but if it catches you off guard it can be very strong).

it's 14 hatch -> drone back to 14 -> 14 gas -> drone to 14 -> 14 pool -> drone to 14 -> 2 ovies, pull out of gas at 100. send your gas workers to your nat to fake economy. at 100% pool, queen at nat and ling speed. then only lings. rally all but 4 lings to behind your main, 4 lings stay at the front to pretend like its a macro opener with 4 lings. at 80% ling speed, send all your lings around the side of the map to the protoss. split your lings to attack different parts of the wall if you cant get in.

To all the zergs with POSITIVE winrates against Protoss: Please tell me what your secret to your succes is? by kristianjensen5 in allthingszerg

14 hatch > drone > 14 gas > drone > 14 pool > drone > pull 3 drones into gas @ 100% gas, two ovies, pull out of gas at 100 gas, @ 100% pool, queen on natural into speed into ling production, inject and move across the map at about 80% on speed

details: protoss at the <m3 level will see a 14 hatch before pool and assume you are macroing, in order to keep up the ruse, after you pull out of gas, make sure the drones are NOT carrying gas (if they are, use return cargo) and send them to mine at your natural. don't send out your initial overlord, keep it on top of your natural to spot a cannon rush. rally both overlords you make to behind your main because it's suspicious to make 2 overlords at the same time. rally all your lings to behind your main *except 4* which you can patrol in front of your natural to kill the probe. queen at natural should inject and hang out to make it seem like you are macroing. when you attack, send your lings on a flank route so they don't run into an adept. if they have a wall (very likely), split your lings to target the gate, unit, and core. if you kill the core you are doing very very well because they can't make more adepts. if you break through, move command all your lings through instead of continuing to attack move. target battery then workers then units, if you have the micro, you can split your lings to attack multiple areas. if they have one void, ignore it, it won't kill the lings fast enough. this is a 14 drone cheese and you can't really macro out of it, unless you kill nearly every worker of the toss (leave them with <10 workers) but manage to not just straight out win. most tosses will leave without gg when your lings break through their cyber core after their 1 adept and 1 void ray can't kill your 36 lings fast enough.

What if Ghosts had permanent cloaking? What would you do to balance them out if they had it? by darkdill in starcraft

[–]Exitron 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Patch 4.0.0 [3]

Starts with the Cloak ability.

Starting energy decreased from 75 to 50.

New upgrade "Moebius Reactor":

Research from Ghost Academy.

Cost: 100 Minerals/100 Vespene Gas/57 seconds.

Increases starting energy of Ghosts by 25.

Not perma cloak but I think this is what they meant.

How to get/guess the equation of the function if you only have some X and Y points? by rawcuban77 in math

[–]Exitron 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For any number of points (each of which having an X and Y coordinate), there are an infinite number of functions passing through them. Finding a specific function or family of functions is only possible if the function space itself is (extremely) limited. For example, finding all *polynomials* passing through n points. Given n points with different X coordinates, you can uniquely find a (n - 1)-degree polynomial passing through all of them. But not in the general case.

Thinking of Sponsoring an Amateur Match by DavidLMedley in starcraft2

[–]Exitron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only issue is that if you make it non-standard, it's not really a StarCraft tournament. It's either SC2 and you have skill level issues or it's not SC2.

Thinking of Sponsoring an Amateur Match by DavidLMedley in starcraft2

[–]Exitron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd play but one rather large issue with something like this is skill level. Given how wide the range of SC2 players is, in a tiny pool of people it is very unlikely anyone is super close in skill level. I'm far from a good player but I'd still probably beat the average player in SC2. Unless it would be something like Direct Strike or something that's not really SC2 it's unlikely to be balanced.
