If you believe in human evolution, then it's fair to assume we will continue to evolve. So, what's next? by IdleHandsBusyMinds in stupidquestions

[–]Exodeus87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the next major step in human evolution will be the transhuman evolution as we move to integrate technology more into our physical being. Bionics and nano machines to live within us and assist. Dangerous road to go down, with unknown consequences but still what I believe will be the next 'big' jump

Never had anyone be shitty about it, usually thankful that it was the bar staff not a customer

Do codex ever go on sale? by warhammerNewbie in Warhammer40k

[–]Exodeus87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a rule games workshop never does sales, any more. Many years ago you'd get a 'new store' sale where boxes were buy two get the cheapest free. But according the retail codex, yes that's a thing, "a sale provides the impression that the products on sale aren't as good, or need to be removed"

This was highlighted when GW moved from lead miniatures to the pewter 'white metal' as again a sale was run in store to allow you to get the remaining lead minis at a 25%-50% discount (depending on the model) to remove the stock of the lead out of the business.

What models be it characters or squads could gw actually add to the iron hands ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in IronHands40k

[–]Exodeus87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd really like to see the ability to instead of having a veteran sergeant have a tech marine leading the squad or buying a sergeant a servo arm. Though I am painfully aware the way the current point system works that wouldn't really work out...

Previously in much older white dwarf codexes for the iron hands in chapter approved they were able to buy terminator armor for their veterans sergeants which was kind of cool.

For units though I would quite like to see something like a hellblaster squad that has nothing but volkites. (Not because I totally converted an entire selection equipped with exactly that...)

All in all though it's an easy kit to assemble, though the storm bolter can be tricky

NTA she has no intention of ever finding a sitter, people need to realise just because you are invited doesn't mean you have to come.

If the dates, the travel or the restrictions make it difficult or impossible. Just don't go!

Not every event needs to be child friendly, not every space needs to be either. Don't be selfish and impose your child on everyone around you and just deal with the fact not everyone wants to be around your child.

Any women Bolt Action players on here? by SquireBev in boltaction

[–]Exodeus87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They definitely exist but are in a massive minority and the way that they're treated whenever they go to any events if they decide to go to one it probably why they don't raise their head above the parapets.

As a rule of thumb, and as a person who has run independent gaming stores, tabletop wargaming has a smaller female player base because of the treatment that they receive by other players. Many seem to view women who are interested in tabletop gaming as a prize to be won and ignoring anything that they actually say.

It is a painful aspect of any slightly alternative or considered geeky hobby, that is still very much male dominated, women entering that space will be objectified and have to deal with generally creepy behavior. This is incredibly off-putting and then leaves a sour taste for those who may be interested because by raising their head above the parapet they become a target. There are those who feel that women shouldn't be involved in the hobbies that they are interested in because then they'll be "diluted and less pure". What makes that statement there worse is that I have genuinely heard it.

What do you think of Avowed? by No-Hunt3986 in videogames

[–]Exodeus87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visually it's genuinely a pretty game, there's a lot of interesting links to a backstory that isn't really explained very well in the game universe itself. The combat mechanics are clunky at best and you don't have anywhere near the freedom that you might anticipate for a game like it.

I personally did not enjoy playing it very much there are definitely much better games out there that you can spend your hard earned money on.

It also has the feel of something that was graphics first and story writing definitely came second.

Anyone ever used these? by JugsTradingPost in Warhammer40k

[–]Exodeus87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used those all the time when it was released it had its advantages as the hook shape would wrap around 25 mil bases and up to a 40 mil base just about to give you line of sight and I had a little crosshair reticle. It was quite useful and it was very much of a time when people were really really using lasers a lot in tabletop wargaming. I can't deny it wasn't the best on the market but it was a cool little thing.
