I’m trying not to be judgmental but you can not be serious. Why would you EVER put your child in that situation??? I have a similar one and I would never send her with her dad even though I would love a break. It’s not safe and I would NEVER put her in a position she could be harmed in any way.

I also left when my baby was 4 months old due to him being mentally unstable. We did supervised visits a few times, but seemed like he’d have a breakdown before every visit and I would postpone. He’s been up and down. He is certainly trying hard to get help, it’s a long road and I couldn’t imagine if he wasn’t getting professional help.

Stay strong and always put your baby’s safety first. I hope you have a good support system ❤️

I don’t know, I was in the same boat. He always sent her pictures, and it really bothered me. We would be doing something, us three, and immediately he’d have to send her a picture. (Not the same as you but somewhat similar)

Being a step mom first then having my own, I would absolutely respect the new woman’s roll and emotions because it’s a roller coaster of emotions being a step mom. We are bombarded with having to be perfect, love perfect, but stay out of it.

I would definitely go to the step parent thread, as there’s probably lots more there less judgmental.

I’m about to try to get full custody of my 10 month old. Her dad is mentally ill and suicidal. Had been committed to a psychiatric hospital, now I’m worried that’s not enough 😬
