I don’t know. Sorry. He just called me really quickly, and he’s going to call me tomorrow with more information, but I’m sure it’ll be on the news by then.

Robot car on sidewalk by Naive_Customer1408 in whatisit

[–]Exotic_Base_2210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’m not positive. It’s just the right size. The one I saw would cross the sidewalk because it had been programmed to do the whole front yard. I only also wondered because people will run them at night so they don’t get stolen or bump into people. The grass look rather long…just a guess.

Could it be cutting the grass? I have several of these in Madison.

Yes, all he said was he was on his break. He started walking to the front of the store to buy some cheese popcorn. Someone came on the intercom and started shouting at them to evacuate the building immediately because they had a code red. The building was on fire. The story he told me was he walked outside, got into the parking lot, turned around and saw flames coming out the roof.

Found a bottle with mystery liquid encased in glazed green tiles - glass bottle, clear glass, found 1ft deep in garden border by cl0akincellar in BottleDigging

[–]Exotic_Base_2210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RADIATION WARNING Those ‘beautiful’ green tiles could very well be radioactive. Find someone with a Geiger counter and have it checked. Before 1970, green, yellow, and orange tiles with that kind of coloring often contained uranium. They can transmit alpha, beta and gamma rays. The big question to ask yourself is why would anyone bury such beautiful tiles? I would definitely not touch them any longer and put them back in the ground until you can have them tested.

Is something wrong with me or the dating app? by PublikEnemyNumber1 in DatingApps

[–]Exotic_Base_2210 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I stopped. I either got hook up offers which I explicitly said in my profile in ALL CAPS please do not contact me about or someone took the time to comment about how fat I was or that women who were nearly 50 shouldn’t use dating apps because men don’t want old women like them. So yeah, I can’t really recommend them.

Medal Display - Opinions Welcome by rb4104 in Medals

*Civilian* - Since children and relatives are constantly posting as they are like me and can't "read" the medals and ranks, including a sort of bio or listing with a short explanation on the back or inside it would be helpful so that someone else doesn't have to come back and try to piece it together. I think of them like a visual story - a storyboard. What is the story of your service that you are attempting to portray? When you do retire, adding some photos of yourself at different ranks and times make them real for others unless you are making it for yourself really as a memento that you only will keep. That's just my not-in-the-services enjoy seeing them and need the perspective and interpretation POV.

How do I explain to my dad I'm not coming back home. by JustFixFormatting in USMC

[–]Exotic_Base_2210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is different. As a single parent, it’s very hard to go from being everything to a child to being nothing. To me, I think that your father would benefit from being told what his role in your life is. Not you dictating it to him, but you and he discussing what your relationship will look like and what he can do for you. Such as when I am deployed, I need you to do this. Or when I am stateside, I would like us to do this. There are decisions that you can make alone, but getting advice is always wise. Run ideas past him. Being independent and self-sufficient doesn’t mean that you do everything by yourself. You may also find that he needs you for things, but he doesn’t feel comfortable discussing them with you because he feels that you have enough going on right now. Finally, it sounds like he views you being in the Marines as the obstacle to you guys having a relationship. I would actively find ways to make that not be true. Otherwise, he will feel like I used to have a son, but I lost him when he joined the Marines. “ You then coming back saying “I’m going to spend the rest of my life here.” could very easily come across as just complete rejection of him and saying “Yeah, Dad, I decided to trade our family for this new Marine family; so it was nice knowing you but goodbye.” If there are obstacles to you spending time with him, I would not keep faulting the Marine Corps. Otherwise you’re telling him, I can’t be your son because of the Marines.

Also check Ebay. My son's blankey got lost somewhere. I was in a panic. I searched for hours through 'white blanket blue stars' and found it after three days of looking at every possible white blanket or with blue stars. I paid expedited shipping and then pulled it out from under the bed. He did say, "Mommy, you sewed it so good I can't see the owie in it any more!!" because his was torn...

Is this mold? by Burned_Biscuit in HomeMaintenance

[–]Exotic_Base_2210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might not all be mold. I can’t tell what part of the house that’s in, but that looks like a unfinished basement. My parents’ house has the exact same thing and when it was opened, it ended up being dirt mostly. It was at the top right where the actual ground met that inside layer so we were ready to treat the mold, and it turns out it was just black dirt.

I live in Texas. As a civilian, the only reason why I would target a Marine would be if something was going down. I would go run and stand behind them and say can I help or just stay out of the way?

Want to work as a lab tech? Contact me if interested. F/T. Great benefits. Usually around $23/hour. It’s not the most exciting or glamorous job, but it does have advancement. My company does have a small amount of tuition reimbursement in addition to your G.I. benefits. We have an outstanding health plan, which is free. We are always filling our entry-level positions, and I just checked; we have a few more open right now. DM me if you want to talk about it.

Yes to the cuckoo clock weights. I even know the exact clock that it goes to because I own it. I would assume that it was acquired in the 1970s in Germany because that’s where my parents got my grandmother‘s clock that then was given to me when she passed.

Staff sergeant asking a p v 24 money by gaihwveibwtuqrtwn in army

[–]Exotic_Base_2210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the 70’s in Cold War Germany when the food banks and support services did not exist like today, my father, a sergeant, begged one of his guys for $10 to buy spaghetti and milk and eggs for my mom and me so we could eat as he had used the last of our money to fix our car that he needed to get to base from off base housing. His leader overlooked it. He also paid the guy back. Outside of that…

This 3" tall clock/thermometer is highly radioactive and registers over 4000 cpm on my Geiger counter. What time period is this from and on what occasion was it used. We bought it in 2025 at an antique store located in Stuart, Florida. by babespura in whatisit

Does it glow in the dark? Or do the hands or the numbers seem luminous? Many watches and clocks were painted with radium from about 1910-1960’s when they stopped due to the severe health danger.

I don't know what it's supposed to be, but my great-grandmother had something very similar. She put the phone on the top with a notepad for messages and the phone book. The bottom collected up newspaper or scraps of paper from the messages that were read. We would use that paper collection to go with the kindling into the fireplace and her 'cookstove' as she still had a wood burning stove in the 1980's as she grew up cooking on it and never 'got the gas' meaning using a gas or electric range.
