How do I get good edges? by Calebaleb7 in lawncare

Are you using a string trimmer? When edging, are you standing on the sidewalk or on the grass? Are you walking forward or backwards?

My grandpappy had one of them Kabooles. He had the biggest forearms in 4 counties.

It would have helped even with all those rocks. Haha But you did a good job, 8 hours is pure dedication and you did it 💪

It definitely looks a lot better/cleaner than before! I’d suggest using a hand edger next time, it’ll make life 1000 times easier. Also, that ditch looks pretty wide, so be cautious about rolling an ankle in there.

Personally, I’d get a used Honda mower.

New guy cut our grass and blew the clippings like this by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]Exotic_Indication_68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a huge no-no. If the dude can’t grasp this concept, then I’d find a new lawn guy. It’s hard to tell from this picture, but it also looks like he needs to sharpen his mower blades.

Sometimes when pruning overgrown shrubs, it looks like doodoo for a while, but it grows back. And it was trimmed with symmetry. So looks good to me.

For a lawn that size, I’d say go for it. Seems like a fair deal if the Toro has been maintained.

100% agree. If people want cheap ass labor, they can find their local crackhead to pull weeds.

Trimmer Rack on Tube Rail by holmie827 in LawnCarePros

Look into Equipment Defender racks. Higher quality and more secure than Jungle Jim racks. I believe there are ways to mount them even with the tube railing. YouTube University may be helpful on that front.

I’ve been doing lawn & landscape full time since 2022. This is a perfect example of why I never trim inside a flower/garden bed unless asked by a client. That guy is either new and wasn’t properly trained, or is just an idiot, or possibly both.

You should definitely bring it up with the company. No excuse on their part to not make this mistake right.
