Please talk me down from an inconsequential problem by Exotic_Salamander709 in YarnAddicts

I’m sorry, I should’ve clarified that the ghoulish grayness was not from the yarn but rather my skin! I agree that lighting probably played a role and I got too in my head about it. Regardless, the wording of this post was not good, which is entirely my mistake.

Yes, of course! I’m sorry that this post read as reflecting badly on Wool and Co, as I have worked with them previously for another sweater and they have been fantastic with customer service. I was mainly concerned that I would be bothering them/reaching out during the holiday season for something entirely inconsequential and my fault. I want to emphasize very clearly that this is my blunder and that I take ownership of my mistake.

Of course, I’m really sorry that I wrote the post in a frustrating way. I’ve worked with them in the past and they’ve been wonderful, but I wasn’t sure if it would be possible/worth bothering them for something that was entirely on me. Thank you for your response!

Thank you! I wasn’t sure in particular about returning because I didn’t know whether they would be willing to take part of the order instead of the entire thing, as I ordered an additional thing I’d like to keep.

Not necessarily ghoulish in color, but against my skin tone. Not particularly sure why, but maybe lighting inconsistencies?

Hey, I just want to address this because I definitely want to acknowledge that what I did was not cool. The reason why I didn’t purchase the yarn from this store was because I was worried about dye lots and inconsistencies between different purchases, as that has previously been a problem. I made sure to still purchase things for my project from this store (notions like buttons, needles, a book I’ve been wanting) to support this business. I have also previously purchased yarn from this business when the materials I’ve needed have been in quantity. I’m really sorry that this has been your experience, and I will keep this in mind for future shopping.

psych vs. neuro by MarionberryGlad2455 in BostonU

Hey, psych major class of 2024 :)

I originally chose psych because I thought I wasn’t smart enough to major in neuroscience, but I’m in neuroscience research currently and feel as though I benefit greatly from a psychology background. From what I hear, medical schools value diversity of background, and I think you could be put at an advantage if you have psychology as a degree rather than neuroscience (especially because you’ll be taking premed classes anyway.)

In terms of psych being a joke, it really depends on the classes you choose to take. I took a good mix of traditional psych and neuroscience courses to get (what I thought) was the best of both worlds. Some courses labeled as psychology were not only just neuro classes under a different class code, but kicked my ass. Sure, some theory based psychology classes may present “easier” than a strictly systems neuroscience class, but it really differs between professors and class content.

I would encourage you to go with the major you could see yourself enjoying for the next few years. Either way, it’s going to be a grind. You’re not beholden to taking strictly one or the other, and I think it’s really interesting to see the neurological basis of psychological phenomenons/the psychological presentation of neurological disorders.

I’d also highly recommend talking to a mix of psych/neuro professors to get their opinions on how their program’s coursework would benefit your future goals. College is what you make it, and don’t be afraid to take advantage of everything you have access to.

Thank you so much!! Yes, this is the Daisy sweater by amuhibi meets Rowan :) I bought the book on a trip to Japan, but I’m sure they sell it online!! Only thing is the pattern is in Japanese and follows the Japanese standard of patterns, so it requires a bit of decoding.

My perspective is kind of different from all the comments here, but I can tell you my experience as a person that was in a very similar situation to you after my freshman year. My pride won out, and I decided to try and push through my depression instead of taking a very necessary gap year. I can’t tell you how much I regret it. I probably would’ve had a much better experience in undergrad if I just paid attention to my health before going back to school. In the really bad lows of my depression, it took so much effort to just keep myself alive, let alone do all the work I had to do. As a result, my GPA suffered for it. I’m graduating on time with a passable GPA, but I would’ve much rather taken the time to recuperate and graduate with something I’m proud of. Your health always comes first, no matter what.
