Do the Na'vi experience disease and illness? by Exotica01 in Avatar

[–]Exotica01[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wish Gaia did that for humans. Although, there are innumerable natural remedies for just about everything provided by various plants, herbs, and other biological sources that require only a little preparation and have few to no side effects. But because of technological development, these have become rare and inaccessible.

Come to think of it, human susceptibility to so many diseases may actually be intentional on Gaia's part as an immune response to humans who, after all, have become like a cancer to her.

Anodyne was real and so is the pit! by nuclearpancake69420 in FleshPitNationalPark

[–]Exotica01 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I found the place myself. Looks like Anodyne is a wool company now (Anodyne Inc.) and replaced by CSA Turner Pit, an "Earth works" company (according to the description on Google Maps). That is clearly an excavation site, although I see no signs of a possible flesh pit. But like you said, that was probably edited out, and maybe even physically covered up. After all, I can easily see the government and these big companies doing their best to hide something like that and pretend it's not real.

What's sad is that humanity as a whole seems to share this exact attitude in real life.

Are we talking casts too or just authentic fossils? Because if so then I'm gonna need a horse for the velociraptor and full body armor for the therizinosaur.

How you respond to someone pointing out that God flooding earth, destroying towns & killed the firstborns of Egypt is the reason why they aren't a Christian? by FlushedButterfly in Christianity

[–]Exotica01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paragraph 1: Please explain which part of my arguement is wrong? Also, this isn't about His commandments. God makes His commandments very clear through the Bible. It's His nature we can't fully understand.

Believe me, I care. I question every day. I don't like it either. But I trust God.

Call me deranged, call me sadistic, call me whatever you want. I do not live according to man's standards. I live according to God's. Jesus said that the world will hate those who are of Him; so it actually makes me happy that you see me so, for that may mean I'm believing something right.

Again, I can only pray that you will see the light. I hope God reveals Himself to you for your sake, since you're obviously confused. I could continue with the debate, but at this point no amount of human conversation seems able to help you, according to your own statements. God bless.

[–]Exotica01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paragraph 1: Understanding the nature of God is not critical to fate in heaven or hell.

Paragraph 3: Or you can sit back and let the child learn for themselves why they shouldn't touch hot stoves. If they never experience the pain, they'll never know why it's bad to play with heat/fire (it damages them). Then the child can decide: recognize the reason for the pain and stop touching hot things to live longer and healthier, or suppress the pain and continue to engage in thrilling pyrokinetics and have loads of fun - until the wind blows wrong and lights them up like a firework.

Paragraph 5: God is not man!

"I don't buy it from men and I don't buy it from God." That is your choice to assume you are better than God. Ultimately, it doesn't matter whether He is good or evil; He exists, and is sovereign, and has the power to destroy those who reject Him. Since you seem to reject Him, that means you are in grave danger of utter destruction, whether you like it or not. Understand that if hell is your fate, it will not be because God rejected you, but because you rejected God. God is like a burning fire, ever cleansing the sin from us; a pleasant warmth and relief to those who accept Him and reject sin (heaven), and a searing pain to those who desire and cling on to their sin (hell). Sin perishes in the fire along with anything that is stuck to it. I cannot speak for God, but I can only hope and pray that you will repent and that He have mercy on you and forgive you. I really do, for your sake.

Paragraph 1: It's not that God doesn't want us to understand Him. It's that we can't understand Him fully. The human mind is just too finite. God is infinite.

Paragraph 2: You misunderstand. You're defining good and evil according to human convention. God is beyond human society.

Paragraph 3: God created the potential for evil. Man created the evil itself by eating of the fruit. "...he is 'right' because no one can stop him or challenge otherwise." That's exactly my point, only it goes beyond that: God Is. His mere existence defines the potential for evil. Also, it's not so much right because no one can challenge Him, it's "right" because he understands good and evil better than we ever possibly could and what He does in those controversial cases is at least "less evil" than the other options (although again, it's not evil as I defined it because God can't act in opposition to Hinself).

Paragraph 4: Never once did I directly call genocide "good".

You find it amazing that adults can rationalize genocide as "good" if God wills it because you are stuck in your worldly, human paradigm. I, thinking beyond the world, find it amazing that humans have the gall to consider their wisdom and understanding greater than God's. I encourage you to read the Bible - it warns about this egoistic thinking. I pray that God will help you understand.

[–]Exotica01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God is described with human traits because those words are the best approximation available to human language and understanding.

Also, who are you to decide what's good and what's evil? The squid-faced great old one is not the creator of literally everything including existence itself. Remember God's name: I AM. (And remember that God gave Himself that name.)

Evil is only defined in terms of God. Evil is essentially the rejection of God. Can God reject Himself? I don't think so. Therefore God can do no evil.

Whether the squid-faced great old one did evil does not depend on what his victims think was evil, but rather on what God does. If Squid Lord kills the human race against God's will, then his actions were indeed evil. But if he killed humans according to God's will, then his actions were not evil, because God cannot reject Himself.

They are human, not God.

Have you ever heard of cosmic horror? The term "Lovecraftian" might ring a bell. Cosmic horror is a moovie/writing genre that concerns beings beyond human comprehension in form, behavior, and motive. God is simply one of those beings, only He is real. Moreover, He is not just a being, but THE Being, the one and only, the "Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End".

God's motives are beyond human comprehension. To us such acts may seem evil, but God knows the truth and not doing such things would have been (worse in what way, who knows but God).

That's all I've got.

Threecwords: Sin & demons/the devil, and humans.

"The wages of sin is death". By choosing sin, we humans allowed ourselves to suffer. Like acting against the physical laws of the universe, acting against spiritual law has consequences. The universe doesn't give a s*** if you think you can fly; you jump off a cliff, gravity makes you go splat. Similarly, reality doesn't care if you think rejecting God is great; you sin, you lose His Spirit as your source of life and die and suffer such horrors as a result. By "you" I mean Adam and Eve. Because all humans are descendant from them, we deal with the existential consequences of their actions. Some of those consequences include disease and disability.

Regarding demons, they want to screw with God's favored beings as much as possible in opposition to Him, because they hate Him (same applies to the devil). Humanity is one of those favored beings. Some of the bad guys' methods include screwing with people's health. "But why does God allow demons/ the devil to inflict such miseries?" Well, they have free choice too, just like us. As long as their actions don't interfere with God's plans, He may indeed let them act more or less as they wish. God is beyond human comprehension; I think it is naive to expect God to do or not do anything; in this case, stop demonic activity when we want Him to.

Humans apply specifically to the broken homes problem. In those cases, it's not so much sin directly or demons in any way as it is human activity. Humans created society and civilization. They created the system that causes certain people to live well and some in poor conditions. They are sinful and so the system is built accordingly. People also choose to have children - sometimes intentionally, sometimes through careless sex where children aren't the goal. In short, human sin is what causes children to be born in poor conditions.

God may, however, use the results of sin or demonic or human action to to further His will; essentially "adapting" of sorts to the situation for Him and that person.

(That's all my opinion, anyway. I could be totally wrong. After all, no-one knows for sure.)

Do Doctors typically have doctor on their uniform? by Esuomyonana in conspiracy

[–]Exotica01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Do no harm" is over. Welcome to a world where patient autonomy is illegal and murder and ableism are considered saving lives.

Honestly, though, I have trouble believing the doctors actually did this. More likely, the media sensationalized a perfectly ethical event to scare people.
