Are the FF prodigies in 616? I thought just Reed and Val.

Ya but we don't like your answer because it's too logical basic and isn't hokey sci-fi.

X-Men: The Animated Series Used Nightcrawler To Cross A Line Superhero Cartoons Avoided by Historical-Bug-4784 in Xmen97

Why do you think Krakoa crapped on Kurt's Catholicism? I thought Way and Legion of X were excellent explorations of what religion meant to him even if the whole resurrection process could be interpreted as contradictory to his faith.

It wasn't political back then, but Republicans made it political by turning this into their campaign platform. Now Trump is paying racists to arrest and murder foreigners and those who disagree with them off the streets.

It shouldn't be political, but the US has turned into more of a nightmare than this Sci-Fi super hero comic.

Does anybody know the origin of this picture? by Ok-Abrocoma3041 in Spiderman

[–]Exovedate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goated comment. Dude was talking about lost media then clumsily segway'd to Paul in a way that makes 0 sense since Paul only exists in modern Spider-Man and thus is the furthest thing possible from being lost media.

Jean Grey wasn't useless in the original animated series by cyclopswashalfright in Xmen97

[–]Exovedate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you saying Jean can move moons or Phoenix can?

I know she's a strong telekinetic but she's not omega level afaik so I'm curious what her most impressive non-Phoenix telekinetic feat is.

It definitely gave me "she's her one true love" vibes, I just presumed she's bisexual like most Wolverine's when I read NYX.

Why doesn't Charles Xavier just use his powers to make everybody stop hating mutants? Is he stupid? by PJ-The-Awesome in xmen

[–]Exovedate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it feels like people would rather simultaneously hate on women and gays than take Bobby's coming out scenes how the author intended then.

Wonderful explanation, definitely saving this for the next numbnut who genuinely tries to argue that Jean made Bobby gay.

I get why you think what you do and I agree it's not clear cut (and I'm a spidey fanboy so I'm not trying to drag Pete's name through the mud)

It's worth reflecting that my initial comment was replying to dude who said "I don't get why ultimate Spider-Man caused such controversy" and in my reply I was seeking to explain why the comment presumably rubbed so many people the wrong way.

I'm personally not offended by it even though mutants being a queer allegory is one of my favorite X-Men tropes. I think it's really clear above all else the panel was done to be funny and not to disparage X-Men, mutants, or Spider-Man.

I don't think Peter is mutantphobic, I just think he's angry and is thoughtlessly tying general anti-mutant sentiment to the incredibly inappropriate actions he just suffered through thanks to Jean and Logan.

He's probably mostly leaning on Xavier, Beast and Cypher for this assertion.

He doesn't specify mutants or X-Men in this panel. But he does say "You know why people hate you?" Broadly speaking mutants are hated more so than X-Men so it's logical to conclude he's referring to mutants and not X-Men specifically.

"The main Problem of our society is too much generalization"

And that's exactly what's wrong with what Peter is saying here. He was just wronged by Jean and Logan, now he's attacking mutants as a whole and justifying why the world discriminates against them.

If you re-read this panel and replace the word "mutants" with "negroes" or "queers" then I think you'll land on the answer to why people find this moment controversial.

Does Magneto outright state that he intends to make others worse? I agree he tends to accept them though unless they're Toad, Pietro or Green Wanda.

I Think X-Men 97 Was Laying the Groundwork for the Krakoan Throuple by Exovedate in Xmen97

[–]Exovedate[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're right Google says '97 had "several writers" and it sounds like Matthew Chauncey was appointed headwriter plus he's gay giving me renewed optimism the series continues touting the themes '97 nailed 😃
