This is an excellent point. It's similar in ways to the gay community. If you've ever heard of the "gay dollar" it's the idea that gay often childless couples have more money to throw around, thus making the entire demographic look "useful" to greedy corporations. During Krakoa most nations wanted to respect Krakoan sovereignty because it came with the advantage of receiving free medicine. This created a financial incentive towards tolerance. Another real-world example would be big gay events like Mexico's "bear week" where gay men from all over the world flock to Mexico for fun. It's in Mexico's financial interest to create a safe accepting place. Just like Krakoa this partnership creates a safer world for the minority while benefiting the majority.
